Drove 750 miles this weekend to be there. East stands was better than that at kickoff, but still not great. Thinking about the stands for some of the Clemson/VT night games of ~10 years ago. Gotta find a way to get back to that.
Not sure if that's 750 each way, or round trip (it's 1300 miles round trip for me), but I think it's great that you drove there. For a long time I made the drive once a year. I used to go to every Maryland game back in the day. The 1990 game at College Park is one of my all-time favorites. And when they were at UVA or VT, I drove there. And when they made the ACC Championship game or the Orange Bowl, I was there. Brought my family, too. The win over South Carolina Cow College in Tampa in particular was a lot of fun. The subsequent Orange Bowl game against Iowa wasn't (my daughter got so cold . . . in Miami Gardens . . . that we eventually had to leave). But my health is not great now, and it's hard to travel these days. Even for work. So coit can eat me.

My heart sinks. Even assuming the crowd was a lot bigger on the side that we can't see, that can't even be near 20000. But that was still a few minutes before kickoff. Please tell me that everyone was still at the concessions.

The club seats were reasonably full - nowhere near as bad as that pic. It was a small crowd but not an empty stadium. BC even brought a few fans.

That was pregame. Here is in game view. Not a big crowd, but more than that picture. South student section was barren.

Round trip, relocated from GA to Chapel Hill in 2018. Kept the season tickets, but the home games attended has dropped from all to 2-3 a year, the I85 south ride is rough. It is nice to have a “home” game with either duke or UNC every year. Charlottesville is a great trip too, couldn’t make it this year but already planning for 2 years from now.

The crowds are down in many places, but the decline at BDS is dramatic. There is still a demand for internet conversation about GT football. But, the demand for tickets is in clear, obvious decline. That is not all the fault of this staff - you can blame TV, GT marketing, traffic and parking, COVID concerns and resistance to protocols, etc. But, three wins a season in a mediocre conference is not helping. The numbers of fans who want to attend Tech football is in sharp decline.

I was sitting in cl 1 and the lower bowl was full but the upper decks were pretty much empty.
