He is now going to delay his decision because of all of the comments around whether Gailey is staying or going. He will wait to see what happens. His coach speaks generically about "coaching changes"...but we know what he means. We really though he was going to commit in late October as he had us as a slight lead over Clemson.

Also notice the comments from Brandon Watts below..a top LB in 2009.

This is just awful! ;)

It seems like the only solution now is to actually fire the current HFC. With all the current speculation, most prospects and their support systems will realize that the fuse is already lit and if he isn't gone this year, he will be after next.

C'mon, this is like the pregnant woman at 9 1/2 months.

I think we can expect nothing good to happen in recruitng until DRad says something strong one way or the other.

I agree Hiveredtech & I wish it would happen soon b.c the "delay or wait and see approach" is a HUGE distraction (much like last year) and a huge tool against us w/ our rivals who are recruiting the same prospects.... I think it's in the best interest of the program to announce their intentions sooner rather than later....

The situation may suck, but we have only Chan Gailey (and Dave Braine) to blame for it. If he had his **** together we would have never been in this dilemma.

So, end all the speculation fire him today, or wait until next year and things will be worse.

Drivel, think they might waiver if we get our lunch handed to us again by UGAG.

So how does the staff combat this?? What were the talking points last year when Chan interviewed for the NFL? The talk of Gailey's departure will not end until a move is made...after the UGA game at the earliest I would presume.

I understand that these kids want stability in the program, but GT has much more to offer than CCG. Hopefully Brandon will keep this in mind, because he would be, as the article puts it, the jewel of this class.

A good way to combat this particular instance would be for DRad to tell him "no matter what, Tenuta is staying on next year."

:)

It's more fuel for the Tenuta choice as HC.

Perhaps because nobody, except the media and a select group who call themselves fans, have talked about firing. The man who is making the decision has said, over and over, that he won't make a decision until season's end.

As much as they think their opinions are in the program's best interest, those who "demand more" by calling prematurely for coaches heads are, in fact, hurting the program...Mike

The perception on behalf of recruits is completely different when viewing something as a potential promotion...vs. what opposing coaches are saying is turmoil, uncertainty, etc. Plus...last years events happened after the class was solid with exception of Michael Peterson. We got Peterson late because Tom O'Brien left BC for NCState.

That is the toughest part of this entire equation. Last year we had perhaps our best recruiting class ever (adjusted to #12 by Scout after non-qualifiers were taken into consideration)...and we are on our way to another Top 20 year. One thing we know is you have to have the Jimmy's and Joe's first and foremost.

Of course, Pete Carroll supposedly had the most talented team in the history of college football this year and promptly lost at home to a team they were a 40-pt favorite over...then lost another one 2 weeks later.

One thing is certain in college football...there is NO CERTAINTY and everyone is just guessing.

You know Tommy Bowden at Clemson, Thompson's co-leader with us, is also on the hotseat. It's not just Gailey he's concerned about.

Brandon should not be making his decision between Tech and Clemson based on coaches. I would not place either Tech or Clemson's coach in a real stable situation.

well...I have pretty good info that he was close to committing to us in October...very close. We were the leader.

Ask demjackets if no one is discussing it outside the fans and the media.

Excellent point. We might both lose out on him. I personally hope Clemson wins out and saves Tommy again. We seem to do fairly well against him, and that'd be one less job opening to compete against.

I would suggest that demjackets among those fans who think he's helping, when in fact he is hurting.
OK, whatever. That doesn't change the fact that this issue is being discussed all the way to the top and that you were being disingenuous when you suggested otherwise.
