#4 DT in country Brandon Thompson....

You know Tommy Bowden at Clemson, Thompson's co-leader with us, is also on the hotseat. It's not just Gailey he's concerned about.

Clemson is also on target to go to the ACCCG this year. We definetly are not. Somebody is in better shape.

...which is the exact reason I said Demjackets needed to shut his trap a few weeks ago...
Ignore list: GeeTee, yellowbritchies, bsakoff, mack, yukonwreck, nedleeds

This comes from a guy who post his ignore list as his signature. the true mark of maturity.

I would suggest that demjackets among those fans who think he's helping, when in fact he is hurting.

Hahahaha. Hurting the program. Yep that's me. Some people are rediculous. You are the ones still bringing that crap up. I am not someone who is hurting the program in any way.

Everyone who expects CCG to return next season, please raise your hand. Nope, didn't think so.

So, you're telling me that we should keep our mouths shut about an inevitable situation in order to make it easier to coerce a minor into making a decision that will affect his entire adult life based on the false premise that the person most responsible for his being here will still be his coach?

dem knows what he can and cannot speak about. He isn't going to post something that hurts the program.

For the record, I didn't bring your name into this -- Knox did and I responded.

And my opinion is no less valid than yours, sir.

Respectfully...Mike

OK, whatever. That doesn't change the fact that this issue is being discussed all the way to the top and that you were being disingenuous when you suggested otherwise.

Knox,

I don't follow you. Please explain.

Specifically, I'm not sure what you mean by "this issue" and "you were being disingenuous".

Thanks...Mike

For the record, I didn't bring it up, nor did I bring you up -- Knox did.

When did I say your opinion didn't matter and mine meant more? I didn't

Calling me out as someone hurting the program though is ludicrous.

I would call "ludicrous" and "rediculous" perjorative terms, i.e. invalid. However, I would simply point to the title of this thread if you think talk such as this is beneficial. But that's really neither here nor there...

Let me be clear, I have no problem with dissenting opinions. It is the airing of dissenting opinions in public forums where they can (and do!) have negative effects where I become concerned.

As fans I think often we don't do a good enough job of asking ourselves if the voicing of opinions could be detrimental to the success of the program. As an employee of the GTAA, demjackets, I would suggest that you should be held to an even higher standard!

Some might argue that we all are entitled to our opinions and expressing them. I would agree, provided they are done so in good taste (i.e. no player bashing, name calling, etc.). However, when exercizing these rights starts to negatively effect the program is when I start to have an issue. It is really just that simple.

Then again, I'm a "simple" kind of guy.

Respectfully...Mike

p.s. this is coming from someone who looks forward to and appreciates all (but a select few ;) ) of your posts. I truly appreciate all the insight into the program you've provided. That does not, however, give you a free pass with respect to the issue at hand.

For the record, I don't have a problem with airing dissenting opinions in public forums, if all they are is opinions. I'm with Clapper on that. Attaching "authority" to opinions is the thing that turns opinions damaging. The whole "loose lips sink ships" thing.

Yes, but if we don't tell anyone, there will be more strong bodies to help bail, even if they will hate us for pretending the ship was still afloat.

That's absolutelly right, however it is very difficult to keep all factions (Buzzoff crowd, Hive crowd, us, common fans etc) of our polarized fanbase in all mediums of communication (forums, radio shows, blogs, word of mouth) quiet. We can all try to be as tight lipped about the whole situation as possible and there would still be leaks.

Once again, nothing I said have or will say has any effect on the program in a negative way.

I didn't have an effect on Thompson like I guess you are suggesting by pointing at the title, he is waiting to see things and how they end up. Just like most people should, I agree with him. We are the leaders, he didn't look at a message board and say oh crap maybe I should wait it out because people have different opinions about Chan, he will make a decision at the end of the season like he has been planning for a while.;)

Perhaps because nobody, except the media and a select group who call themselves fans, have talked about firing.

demjackets can attest to the fact that it isn't just fans and media who are considering or discussing the possibility of a firing.

Knox is right on that one, whole boatloads of people are talking about firing at this point. And I personally don't think Knox or Clapper or myself talking about it is doing any additional damage to the program, just like Democrats talking about how much Iraq sucks wasn't making the situation in Iraq worse.

A general currently in the military talking in public outside official channels about how much Iraq sucks could hurt the Iraq effort though...

Demjackets is always the first one to bring up the topic of firing Chan Gailey and this hurts our program.
:laugher::laugher::laugher:

5-4 is also his fault.

I'm not so sure how you can speak authoritatively (i.e. your first sentence) when there has been evidence, both in this case in particular, and in other well documented cases on other forums, where discussions such as this have had a negative effect.

Regardless, it is clear from your actions and follow-up posts that we just disagree about what is in the best interest of the program. Rather than continue to argue and change nobody's opinion, all I will say is that I respect your right to feel the way you do, as I hope you respect my right to feel the way I do.

Have a nice day...Mike

Is demjackets not a fan? Has he posted any such comments on this forum indicating players/coaches/GTAA officials are saying such things? If so, please quote them, because I can't recall him portraying anything but his own opinion and Dan's well known position on the topic.

To wit, are players or coaches or other GTAA officials (i.e. not fans or media) saying such things publically? If so, kindly point me to those comments.

Thanks...Mike
