First, if Chan runs the table (and it can happen) he will be 9-4 with a win over UGA and he stays.
If he doesn't have at least a 8-4 regular season with a win over UGA, than it is back to the same-old, same-old and no one seems to want that.
As far as recruits are concerned, they ought to be impressed with knowing that the bar is set at a decent level (i.e., ACCCG, BCS, frequent wins over UGA) and should want to participate in such a program.
