4star WR Stephen Hill committed?

My initial reaction - Will we ever fully utilize the talents of a four star WR in the TO? But then I thought of what a huge factor BeBe is (when we can get him the ball) in keeping defenses honest.

Of course, CPJ may have another position in the backfield in mind for him....

Just imagine what having TWO baybays would be like. One on each side of the field. Would do wonders for both the running game and passing game.

But, but, but...we can't recruit top flight WRs in this offense! Everybody knows that!

Honestly, I am very excited about stephen hill committing, but now with two huge playmakers at WR I want to see some reverses.

Could you imagine Calvin Johnson in this offense? Run..run...run...run....run....PLAY ACTION 80 YARDS TO CALVIN JOHNSON TOUCHDOWN!!

We need to give a big thanks to Jordan Luallen as he has helped land a lot of these commits. Especially Orwin Smith and Stephen Hill.

These receivers we are getting know the value of blocking and the opportunities that await them in the NFL. Nice pick up.

If this guy is a half way polished receiver....

...and works hard, he could play right away. No one else seems to be making much of an impact at the other end position. Of course he must block and do a lot of things well in our offense, but it sounds like he has the tools.

What about the OL's though as far as NFL.

It appears that our OL's actually use their hands very little now....it is mostly shoulders and diving at legs...extremely different than blocking technique in the NFL where it appears everything is push and punch.

How hard will it be to evaluate our OL's for an NFL scout...and how long wouldl it take one of our OL's to change their blocking technique?

Our offense will make them hit...so we know the mental toughness will be there.

You mean OL and WR's have to run block in the League!? OMG! I guess every WR can't be TO.
You can not like TO, but you don't see him taking plays off in the running game. Everytime a RB on his team goes for a long run, you will see TO blocking downfield and running full speed to block.

- Remember the 94yd OT TD by Garrison Hurst. TO blocked 3-4 different guys on that play allowing a tired Hurst to win the game.

- He ran Felix Jones down to keep a blocker off him.

No one questions TO between the whistles. They question him at the other times.

With Hill and Bebe next year, I will not be surprised at all if we don't even our play mix out between pass and run. Hill was smart enough to see that he could shine ever Saturday in this offense with HUGE numbers. He can demonstrate for the pros that he can play one on one and block the two keys to success in the NFL.

2 Top flight WRs mean that they can't rely on single coverage. The defense has to keep a safety or two back, which means even more rushing yards for us next year.

We also need relatively accurate throwing for that. Just reminding..

(relatively accurate = NOT our last throw against FSU)

The good news here is that Hill is quite a bit faster than Thomas. BeBe may have picked up his speed since HS, but he was listed at 4.68 in the 40. You might think that this is not much of a difference, but it is at least a step. Most of the time the difference in that one step on a DB is a completion as opposed to a breakup.

If Hill is a legit 4.44 guy, that will be huge, and it will make him a deep threat for the pass.

The diff between 4.6 and 4.4 is huge because there are so fewer defensive backs with 4.4 than there are at 4.6. That's elite territory speedwise.

If people think we are difficult to defend against this year, we are going to be an unholy nightmare next year.

Its easy to forget that we are working with a depleted roster stocked with players groomed to play another type of offense. When we get the numbers back up and the bodies/skills are more suited to our offense then its time to feel genuine pity for our opponents.

Everyone in the stadium knows that on 3rd and long, our two main threats are:

1) Nesbitt to Bebe
2) Nesbitt running

And it amazes me how often that play works. Adding Hill to that mix gives another downfield threat they will have to respect.

Oh and I forgot 3) Dwyer on a 30 yard run draw

The beauty of our offense is that the threats are whatever the defense is underallocating their 11 bodies to stop. We have been going deep because they are showing man coverage. When they go to double or zone, we'll just hit 'em with something else.

We just need the defense to tell us where they prefer getting hit and we will be happy to oblige.

Exactly. When we get into the point in this offense where, on 1st down, we are just as likely to throw to one of our tall WRs as we are to run the TO, we will be very nasty.

When they have to cover each one of those threats...then its just a matter of who screws up first. Luckily our primary play gives our QB three chances to figure out who screwed up :)
