4star WR Stephen Hill committed?

I don't mean this to be a rhetorical question; I really would like someone to weigh in on this to help me understand:

When a high school kid has a "commitment" to one place and then breaks it to make a "commitment" to a second place, why on Earth would the second place feel like they can count on their "commitment?" Is there a special reason to believe that Tech's Stephen Hill "commitment" will hold true?

We're the better school. I'd guess that it's rare that a kid would decommit twice. That only happens to a Cedric Everson type. It would be an interesting study to see.

What about the OL's though as far as NFL.

It appears that our OL's actually use their hands very little now....it is mostly shoulders and diving at legs...extremely different than blocking technique in the NFL where it appears everything is push and punch.

How hard will it be to evaluate our OL's for an NFL scout...and how long wouldl it take one of our OL's to change their blocking technique?

Our offense will make them hit...so we know the mental toughness will be there.

Sorry for late reply, my computer was stolen. Ken Whisenhust and some other coaches like what Paul is teaching, so I don't think it will be a problem. It depends on what type offenses these days. I think you will start to see a shift in size on the oline in the coming years.

Thanks.

I have to say...there is a lot of excitement about the Antonio Foster pledge from Valdosta.

Paul has been successful wherever he has been and that success has not been with D1 talent. Now that he has D1 talent at his disposal, I believe that his offense will be much different than that which we've seen so far this year. This year's offense won't allow us to be a fixture in the Top 10-15 but with Paul's ingenuity he'll get us there - and with different looking offense.

The reason the 'they never pass' mantra won't dissuade WRs is that the 'you will always be in single coverage' will counter that.

The actual point that might deter a WR from GT is that you have to block here or you won't play. This is actually a pro not a con. I actually prefer to know if a WR is too lazy to block before they get here because I do not want that guy.

I would rather have a three star who blocks than a lazy four star only interested in his numbers.

The great thing about this offense is that we don't need a stable of WR's. We need a few guys who know how to block and know how to block well. If you are a talented WR, you will get your catches. Just look at Bebe. I think the young WRs are now seeing that this isn't just a run offense. We do throw the ball and you do have a chance to shine.
