5:30 p.m. press conference to announce

Damn what's wrong with our local media!!!! I bet if UGAGers were hiring a new coach our local media would have interuptes a State of the Union address. Makes me sick!

Yeah the Mayweather weigh-in is going on right now, it's on ESPNews too. You'd think our flagship station would be more concerned with our football coach, but I guess not...

Take it easy folks, they didn't miss any of the press conference. The boxing talk ended before the presser started.

Now, you can wonder just why they had 2 (at least) boxing guests on today... I know there's a "big" fight this weekend but I bet that's about two more boxing guests that most people wanted to hear from.

I don't think so. It's a press conference, they're not going to take up the entire news show with it. That's generally how it goes, even for the biggest press conferences on ESPN...they show the first couple minutes then redirect it to a secondary outlet.

I wish I could hear the questions being asked and not just the answers..

Yeah, unfortunately that's how it goes. They don't mike the reporters... I don't think I've ever seen a press conference where you can hear the reporters clearly (I guess a few White House press briefings, but otherwise no).

"If I thought we couldn't compete for championships, I wouldn't be standing here."

"One thing that drives me is the chance to compete for championships."

"If I thought there was a ceiling here and I couldn't win a championship, I wouldn't be standing here."

Goals:

1) Put a top flight staff together
2) Put together a great recruiting class
3) Lay foundation for football program
4) 1-on-1 Meetings with players and personnel

"The best way to achieve "it"..win games"

"If you win, most people leave excited. It's not rocket science"

Regarding excitement:

"In my experience, if you win, people leave excited. It's not rocket science."

"If you have undersized guys going against bigger guys and you have success, you'd think if you have bigger guys doing the same things you'd have more success."

"We're gonna try do to whatever it takes to win the football team. If it's throw the ball 35-40 times per game so be it......but there will be a good basis of running the football."
