Longest post of the year nominee
Do you really think he's gonna dog him out to the media?
No, I agree
Of course he's number 2 right now. He's had playin time and 2 years.
Agree
He's also spoke highly about Washington
Agree
As for the other guy "saying the same for Nesbitt as to Shaw" that's completely nuts
Disagree. The original quote was:
Nesbitt is going to be a lot better at passing. Most of his throws were scrambling due to the inexperience of the O Line.
The reply was
Whatever excuses apply to Nesbitt also apply to Jaybo.
And there's no reason to believe that Jaybo won't be better as well.
This says if Nesbitt's throws were scrambling due to the inexperienced O line, so were Jaybo's, and both Jaybo and Nesbitt should be better after another year of experience. These are basically facts.
What is it that you think is so special about Shaw? I'm curious Give'emHell.
Where did he just WOW you? Against Duke and MSU? Did you go to the games? Did you see UNC and FSU? Those were REAL competition and he quickly came down to reality.
Actually yes, and I went to all home games. Both duke and msu stacked the box a ton, trying to force a true freshman to throw downfield. For MSU in particular, Jaybo playing was unexpected. He was fully prepared, and played well. MSU made a defensive adjustment to stack the line much harder than they had with Josh, and we made 2 key moves. #1 Our beloved coach recognized their adjustment mid series (some of our prior coaches required a full off season to make such an adjustment, or at the very least a halftime, I DO love CPJ) to play action pass it to the end zone. #2 Our true frosh made the throw WHILE BEING TACKLED.
On fsu, my memory is a bit more... let's say... blurry. But I do remember one sprint out where Jaybo turned to pitch to the sweeping A back, but found the A back wasn't where he should have been, so Jaybo kept the ball, and got drilled. IIRC, that happened after the first series Jaybo played in, where somebody on our OL gave an olay block to their nose, who smoked Jaybo from behind. I can promise you I'd have fumbled there just like Jaybo, and I'd bet MANY QBs at any level fumble if they get hit totally blind from behind by a guy twice their size before they take step #2 out from under center.
Jaybo didn't play particularly well against unc, but neither did anyone else, and we gave it away at the end.
I'm not doggin the kid, I'm just sayin that there are better QBs on that team.
Honest question - What makes you think Tevin or anyone else not named Nesbitt is better than Jaybo? I haven't had the opportunity to see more than the Spring Game, or even to read as much of our reports as I'd like, so I'll admit I'm somewhat in the dark here. That said, everything I have heard is that Tevin is crazy quick and therefore hard to bring down, but he still hasn't played 1 down of D1 ball yet either. So to say he or any other currently listed GT QB not named Nesbitt is better than Shaw is still speculation / opinion.
I hope you're right, bc it would be a great thing for the team to have more players with better skills. That said, I think people are blaming and doubting Jaybo more than he deserves. Particularly with the injury, it's gut check time for a 19 yr old kid, who played well as a freshman, but he's getting alot of tough reviews. I hope he comes back strong enough to impress us all even more than he has for some of us already.
Do I know more than CPJ? Hell No But I'd bet my paycheck that I know a helluva lot more than you do on the game based on what I've read from you thus far
Come on man. Can't we all just get along? Please try to share your informed opinion without slinging insults.
GO JACKETS!!!
