680 calling CPJ policy hypocrital again

nothing if not predictable.

CPJ's policy is straightforward, and he treats recruits like men instead of little boys. Find me one recruit or player who will come out and say CPJ's view on "commitment" is wrong.

I think some might think the policy is if you visit then we drop you cause of the Aycock thing, but as others had said that was also a situation where the recruit told PJ he wasn't going to visit, then next thing PJ hears about him is that he is in Auburn visiting.

Jerkoff's beaf with CPJ was him going after other teams recruits if he wasn't going to allow his to take other visits. THEY ARE MUTUALLY EXLCUSIVE!!!

Jerkoff, on the other hand, has no problem when UGA, Auburn and Miami come in at the last minute and offer our kids because they don't have 'CPJ's policy'.

Jerkoff doesn't understand that GT is EXTREMELY limited on who we can make last minute offers to, due to our academics, thus putting GT at an EXTREME competitive disadvantage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (GT's commits are qualified to go most anywhere, a significant percentage of 'the factories' commits are not 'offerable' by GT)

This will not likely EVER change, so get used to it, root for your team and don't begrudge our coaches who are working their asses off!!!

Chernoff is a moron. There's nothing hypocritical about our policy. It's probably more up front and honest than most. Everyone targets each others commits (Tech included). We honor the spot of anyone committed to us, but if they start shopping around to replace us, we start shopping around to replace them. Their spot is no longer safe.

Here is an interesting write up of CPJ's policy on Oliver's own site. I especially like this quote:

"All over sports talk radio in Atlanta, they describe how it works incorrectly, including our esteemed King, Chuck Oliver and his sidekick, Matt Chernoff. "

The day that any college knocks on any radio personality's door for a head coaching job opening is the day I will start actually caring what they say on the radio.

Really? Are you a vegetarian?

Re: the article

Do players really have to get up at 5AM every morning?

Cellini on 790thezone was also talking "hypocritical" on Friday morning. The other two idiots were somewhat defending CPJ.

It really amazes me how ridiculous the ATL radio stations are.

Thanks for the link. That is probably the most level headed, logical argument that I have seen written about the subject. I don' understand why people can't understand CPJ's policy. CPJ is not trying to take the moral high ground, he is just doing what is right for GA Tech. It is not like we have talented kids beating down the door to get in like Bama.

It is just sad that Tech is already 2nd tier as far as fan base in the state and then the local radio (even flagship station) have to dawg CPJ out for his policy.

Chernoff is like that kid in high school who felt compelled to pick fights and then get his butt kicked every time. I think we all knew one.

He reminds me of one of those preppy kids that would talk smack to you in the halfway during break when he was with his cliche, but if you ever caught him alone he would try to be your best friend.

Who gives a dam what Cheroff says. Just do listen to the prick. But I will say, even though I beleive you should honor your wor, CPJ is going down a slippery slope on this thing. He cannot compete against others who have no such policies.

You guys have got to stop listening to that nonsense. Seriously. I stopped listening to Atlanta sports radio a little over a year ago and I can guarantee you that I haven't missed anything worth hearing.

In defense of what Oliver said this afternoon. He said it seems like when Tech has a recruit ready and just before signing day other schools start the sniff around Tech seems to throw up their hands and not fight to keep the kid down the stretch. He just kept saying that Tech needs to fight harder to keep those recruits.

It may seem that way to him... but I have no evidence that's truly the case.

I personally think our recruiting overall needs a serious overhaul if we ever want to compete for any championship. But time will tell.

yall know what'll shut him up? beat georgia. beat georgia in consecutive years, get more fans in the city, in the state.

everything else will fall in place. one day maybe we'll see 680 GT The Fan signs in front of Marta busses? Maybe the billboard across from CNN center will say TO HELL WITH GEORGIA, rather than how bout them dawgs. Maybe Subway dude making my sandwich will wear a shirt that says Go Jackets! rather than Subway is bulldogs' choice.

Until that magical day, we need to stop listening to idiots on sports radio or reading Mark Bradley's stupid jokes about Tech on AJC. It's pointless to get upset about it. They cater to millions of retards in this state that call themselves bulldogs and bark like idiots. It's supply and demand.
