They go on to say that Dwyer and Morgan Burnett have one foot out the door and they are playing that way. They say Burnett was a stud the first two years and now he's getting burned left and right. They say Burnett more than Dwyer is playing with the NFL in his sights and like someone has been telling him he's good in his ear.

Further, they say that something is wrong with our conditioning. Noting that during Miami and Clemson in the fourth quarter the team looked gassed and out of shape. I have to agree. They say "something isn't right" with our team. I also have to agree.

Thoughts?

I won't comment on NFL aspirations, as that's attacking the character of a player. I might attack their results, but I won't touch their character.

As for the conditioning, there is definitely a problem here. Something needs to be done.

I don't think either of them are playing poorly because of the NFL being on their mind. I think they both understand that their current play would only lead them to a fate worse than M. Johnson regarding their draft stock.

As for the team, I do think that conditioning is the root of most of our problems right now. They are losing focus and playing sloppy due to being tired and this might have less to do with having too little conditioning and more to do with too much. The whole team is a step slow right now and making some simple mistakes on their assignments.

The good news is that they've had 10 days now to rest which should help shake whatever effects they were feeling in the beginning of the season.

I think Burnett is playing like he has a cast on his hand. I makes you more tenative on tackles. It also slows down you running.

JD and D Thomas are gone for sure.

Burnett is great friends with Nesbitt and he is pushing for him to stay.

D Morg may be gone all depending on draft stock.

gt23eric, is this information you know, or just speculation?

Well obviously all this could change as the year goes on. Besides Dwyer. He is gone for sure. I really would be happy at this point to retain one of the four.

So you really know he's gone? The inside information? I sort of hope he doesn't even though I want him to be happy.

This is what I've said too, but he hasn't had a 100 yard game yet. NFL draft stock is much more fragile than the NBA's, and if Dwyer doesn't step it up, he could see himself tumbling. Just ask Michael Johnson.

Yeah. But Dwyer isn't staying. Wish he would though. He's a great kid that comes from a excellent family.

I think(therefore opinion only) Dwyer and Morgan get a certain benefit of the doubt in terms of statistical performance in that opposing teams are building their respective strategies around stopping these players, Morgan more so than Dwyer should have this with the 3 other defensive lineman not playing up to par.

If he goes pro now, he's probably a 3rd rounder. That'll cost him $20 M. If he leaves for that, he's an idiot.

Nesbitt is trying to persuade Burnett to stay? Your sentence is worded the "he" could be either Burnett or Nesbitt.

Your last sentence is true of just about everyone w/NFL potential.

If the talented group mentioned does not start living up to their potential soon, going into the draft early would be ill advised.
