They seem to be slower getting the press conference multimedia up this year but here are some tidbits from KQ:

I love listening to Thack & Pnode's pressers. I think they provide a lot of good insights on what they see and are trying to do schematically. CGC is a marketer who tries to stick tight to his messaging. He also spins everything positively, which I actually like... but makes his pressers less informative.

I think the combination gives up more knowledge about the program than at any point in the past. Yes, there are things Collins will not talk about and likes to keep close to the vest but many of those things are stuff that few modern coaches discuss in the press. Letting the OC/DC talk freely adds a lot of stuff.

Even Johnson stopped talking about injuries because of the HIPPA stuff. Johnson was great about talking about his offense and what was happening there. Outside of that he didn't really have much to say that was interesting. Recruiting was always: we do what every does and it is what it is.

I skip CGC pressers and go straight to Thanker's and Pnode's interviews. You could play a pretty good drinking game with CGC interviews.

"Being in an Above-The-Line system instills a culture where competition is king. So the next man up will have to put the ball down with a high level of intensity, and one of my favorite moments was when I looked over and saw him on the sidelines, reppin the 404, even during a global pandemic, reminding us that he knows hes in a developmental pro GRAM located with 1500 miles of every national champion from the past 300 years."

I am fine with CGC being the visionary, face of the program, rah-rah, branding is everything, positive guy while his coordinators are the technical X’s and O’s folks. I do agree his pressers are good for drinking games...at a high level.

I think that enough "put(ting) the ball down" has occurred and more "hang(ing) on to the ball" is in order, amirite?
