I’m saying he sees his primary role as head coach as a Program manager, culture builder, and recruiter, and delegates the coaching/adjustments of the two units to his coordinators, just like Dabo. While he has a strong pedegree in coaching on the defensive side of the ball, I would be willing to bet he is not micromanaging the offense or defensive game plans outside of one or two suggestions prior to game day. I would not call our head coach a clown, but he’s definitely got some slick salesmanship in his style, just like Dabo, and if he can have that level of success you certainly won’t hear me complain. I like what he is doing and the position he seems to have put his staff in, the one thing going forward he needs to clean up is clock/game management, which to me seems to land squarely on Collins making better in game, real time decisions regarding clock management.
That said, it would not surprise me if other fanbases saw a Collins interview and referred to him as “a clown”. They gonna learn, though.
