90% Chance of Rain Friday and Saturday…

I was there in the cesspool in '74, It was simultaneously one of the most miserable and most glorious days of my life. I took my dad to his only COFH game, and with it being so cold in that pouring rain, I suggested we leave at half-time. He said NO, he said he was enjoying it too much. That was the closest I ever felt to my dad and the proudest I ever was of him.
I quit going to the cesspool after the debacle there in Gailey's first year and have only gone to the home games and watched the others on TV. I sure didn't remember that 2008 was rainy. I thought Roddy made those incredible runs in the sunlight. But I will take you guys' word for it. If rain has helped us in the past, then please, God, let it pour Saturday....LOL

A great cleansing flood.

I just saw Danny Myers at my HS reunion. He had quite a game that day

One of the coldest and wettest COFH games I ever attended was at the Cesspool in 1969, I forget what
the actual temperature was, but it was bitterly cold and rained the entire game! GT won that game 6-0
and finished the season at 4-6 under Coach Bud Carson. Don't think I could have survived that game
without my clear whiskey and the tons of rain & winter gear I wore that day. Anytime it is cold and it
rains, I harken back to that cold and rainy day in Athens where the white & gold prevailed over
those despicable mongrels in A town!!! THWG!!!

Yeh, I was at the ‘74 game too and it was absolutely miserable and wonderful at the same time.
BTW, give some love to Dwyer. He made the touchdown run on the first play of the third half in 2008 to get the scoring going.

The 1969 game was in Atlanta, and it didn't rain. However, we did win 6-0

Yea after I posted that I realized my error, there was however a game at the cesspool where it was freezing cold and raining,
I guess my age is catching up with this old fart!
That was 1974, and Pepper was our coach. Ironically, I took my mom to the '69 game that Tech won in Atlanta and my dad to the '74 game in the cesspool when we ran all over the mutts. I wish I had taken them to more COFH games. LOL

Yea, the '74 game when Pepper's Wishbone was running up and down and all over the dwags, God it was always a great day when we beat those mongrels. It seems your parents were good luck when you took them to the COFH games!

My favorite COFH game was the game in 2000 at the Cesspool. Our group of 10 Yellow Jacket fans were sitting in the middle
of a bunch of Dwag fans. At half-time the Dwag fans started booing the UGA team and coaching staff as they were walking to
the locker room. God it was awesome! To make matters worse for the DWAG fans, GT QB, George Godsey held up three fingers
to signify that GT had won three games in a row against UGA. Walking back to our car, was like walking to a wake as the Dwag
fans were quiet as a mouse. Another great day to bee a Yellow Jacket!! THWG!!!

1974 Mud Bowl in Athens, GA. A good time for all the loyal Jackets who stayed in the rain, sleet and snow. Would be great to rain again in Athens in 2022. Damn it was wet and cold, could not wait to get changed to dry ones and rub the Dawgs nose in the mud all over again.

27-3 at the half in 2000. Easily the best half of football I've ever seen us play against the mongrels. We coasted in the 2nd half but completely outclassed them in every phase that day.

1998 was a lot of fun for me as I had just moved back to Georgia from Colorado and was living in Athens for work, rooming with a good friend who was finishing up school there. But, I don’t think anything was as fun as 2014 - coincidentally I was also living in Athens for work again. I didn’t even go into the game, but met up with @GT flunkout and his crew at Clarke County HS and stayed in the lot to hold down the fort and watch on the TVs. Got completely wasted on some öööö called Apple Pie brandy and ended up saying prayers to any gods who would listen, willing us into OT with glorious kick from Butker. Holy öööö what a game.

Truly miraculous game. We had just given up the lead with 14 seconds left. A good kick return and one scramble out of bounds by JT put us in range for the kick.

Well crapola, rain chance still 90%+ for Friday but Saturday has changed to 58%. If I was CBK I would tell the team to make the field a mud hole during pregame warmups.
