So, in '59 Dodd took Tech to the Gator Bowl at 6-4 and was ranked #3. That was a different era.

I only see 2 losing seasons for Dodd.

From 51 to 56 must have been amazing, maybe the top team in CFB for those 6 years. The rest of Dodd record looks very, very georgia tech to me.

Folks forget that after 56 the Hill wanted to cut back on the football program and couple of courses tech used for players were sent to Georgie....probably for Dodd playing Pitt in the bowl game.......second point is Dodd said when he had to go to one platoon football he had players that could only play one way effectively...Last thing.He had bad years for him from 57-60 but if you look at his defense and losses you can see he was in every ballgame....we dont see that now do we .seven wins out of ten was not going to send you bowling in the fifties.Tech went to gator mainlly to keep it alive since we always had a great traveling fan support.
