A thread about uga

Noticed the same. They're complicit
Frankly, that's not unusual though. Many times, when a S-A does some criminal wrongdoing, it becomes a news side thing. They may be asked to get comments from the coaches or AD or whoever for the news folks, who wouldn't know them from Adam's housecat. Plus, the news side people are more used to going through incident reports and court records and filing open records requests.
Though sports folks covering UGa should be well-versed in those areas.

Lots of young people speed. My niece recently got ticket for going 90+ in a 55. Sort of seems to be a problem all around. Lots of cultural issues these days, accentuated by the money flow that’s now legal to young top athletes.
Many of these speeding instances are in heavily populated areas where it is extremely dangerous to speed excessively. That is very different from 90 on a country road.

So ESPN has a reporter putting some serious time into the story? Not getting my hopes up but I'd not be unhappy to see the this story uncover exactly how championships are bought and paid for these days.

we’ll see how long this snowball rolls for. I’m sure uga will find a way to squash the negative press but espn picking up where Ajc left off is a nice start. But Kirby basically gets hostile with the media and makes it uncomfortable for them to question lines of questioning he doesn’t want to address.

End of espn article asks Athens Clarke county spokesperson about Bryant Gantt wand receives a “no comment” response. Gantt’s twitter account has been silent since January. That there is the story.

"When asked about punishments related to driving violations, the UGA Athletic Association said in its statement that it could reduce academic-achievement monetary awards for "serious misconduct." The disciplinary process might also include a one-on-one meeting with Georgia athletic director Josh Brooks."

I was going to write a bunch of stuff about this nonsense, but it really just speaks for itself.

OMG. That is pathetic

Even this article referred to Gannt as "the fixer". Like you said, the fact that he won't comment or return calls, "is the story". UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Didn't they have a player get injured in an on-campus scooter crash not too long ago?
I'm pretty sure they just stopped reporting on those. "Georgia player crashes, kills" won't move the needle again for another 5-10 years, so of course they're not going to bother with last week's case where one of their top offensive players drunkenly ran down a toddler with her own wheelchair.
