White Shoes Amato has been gone for what seems like 2 Decades, boy the ACC has really taken some reaches to fill HC vacanciesI can honestly only name five ACC coaches. Collins, Norvell, Cutcliffe, Brown, and Swinney.
Does Amato still coach NC State?
Hell, I thought Diaz had been fired already. Soon, I suppose. Miami is becoming VanderbiltWhite Shoes Amato has been gone for what seems like 2 Decades, boy the ACC has really taken some reaches to fill HC vacancies
Manny Diaz is one you might know
So somehow the Syracuse coach isn't a 3?I don’t know if I could rank them, but they could be put into tiers:
Tier 1 (Dabo)
Dabo
Tier 2 (Good Coaches)
Mack Brown
David Cutcliffe
Tier 3 (Meh)
Dave Doeren
Dave Clawson
Dino Babers
Bronco Mendenhall
Scott Satterfield
Pat Narduzzi
Jeff Hafley
Justin Fuente
Tier 4 (It’s Been Ugly)
Mike Norvell
Manny Diaz
Geoff Collins
I actually struggled a little with where to put CGC, but I think this is fair, based on performance. If we can replicate last week’s performance going forward and pick up 5-7 wins this season, then he moves firmly into Tier 3.

Highly unfair to put CGC in tier4 considering the greatest transformation that GT FB has had to overcome, not just the great transition after they get to GT, but he had to rebuild Contacts with in State HS FB Coaches that the previous Staff rubbed the wrong way for some unexplainable reasonI don’t know if I could rank them, but they could be put into tiers:

Boss Ross took them to two Super Bowls thoHighly unfair to put CGC in tier4 considering the greatest transformation that GT FB has had to overcome, not just the great transition after they get to GT, but he had to rebuild Contacts with in State HS FB Coaches that the previous Staff rubbed the wrong way for some unexplainable reason
Hard to make any quick Fixes when the local in-State HS Coaches have basically seen GT turn into a non option for their Players for 11 straight years , I imagine that when CGC took over there were HS Coaches not returning GT's calls
Given the stubbornness of the "GT way" CGC is deserving of being in Tier3
GT is a a hard place to Coach because of self inflicted crap from the School itself, that's one reason that Boss Ross left GT for what was one of the worst owners and Teams at that Time (San Diego)
Be fair to CGC Tier3
Was it one SB?Boss Ross took them to two Super Bowls tho
True. Thought it was two.Was it one SB?
So the 4 star recruits we get now that we weren't getting during CPJ come from where since HS coaches now see GT as a non option for their players?Highly unfair to put CGC in tier4 considering the greatest transformation that GT FB has had to overcome, not just the great transition after they get to GT, but he had to rebuild Contacts with in State HS FB Coaches that the previous Staff rubbed the wrong way for some unexplainable reason

Damn, I guess CGC does have enough time to troll the sports boards.Highly unfair to put CGC in tier4 considering the greatest transformation that GT FB has had to overcome, not just the great transition after they get to GT, but he had to rebuild Contacts with in State HS FB Coaches that the previous Staff rubbed the wrong way for some unexplainable reason

Welcome Geoff!
Reading the Wake v. UVA thread, it made me wonder how the ACC coaches rank. I think the top 2 are pretty clear but after that, it's a crap shoot. How would you you rank them in an honest assessment?
Do you really think Cutcliffe is a good coach? He’s 35-71 in ACC play. Two seasons above .500 in conference play in 13 years. GTFO.I don’t know if I could rank them, but they could be put into tiers:

(edit) bumped Clawson up to Tier 2
Tier 3 represents relative mediocrity. 6 wins in 2 years is not mediocrity, and 1 “good loss” does not change that.Highly unfair to put CGC in tier4 considering the greatest transformation that GT FB has had to overcome, not just the great transition after they get to GT, but he had to rebuild Contacts with in State HS FB Coaches that the previous Staff rubbed the wrong way for some unexplainable reason

Bro, he won 10 games in a season at DUKE. How many years do you think it took them to win 35 ACC games before Cutcliffe got there?Do you really think Cutcliffe is a good coach? He’s 35-71 in ACC play. Two seasons above .500 in conference play in 13 years. GTFO.
