Adidas already destroying Tech tradition

Yellow jackets are assholes of the nature and they sting you just for shits and giggles much like our fanbase who shits on others for enjoyment. I wouldn't mind a more aggressive looking Buzz that annoys other mascots and knocks 3 gallon gatorade coolers of tables and shit.
 
I love Buzz, both the cartoon version and the mascot. The cartoon version looks polished (unlike that stupid “aggressive bee” thing, and unlike a lot of other schools’ cartoon mascot versions). The mascot is actually goofy and fun, not a strutting dumbass like Hairy Dog.

I’m not a fan of the version in the new colors, though. I know we were trying to harmonize everything, but brown and navy don’t look great on Buzz.

He does look kinda...faded? in the new shade of gold, but I guess it was a compromise solution, balancing the desire to keep him as a secondary with the desire to eradicate buzz gold (yellow) from our scheme. I can live with it.

My biggest pet peeve is Buzz. Not Buzz the mascot, but Buzz the word. Who in the world thought it was a good idea to license our mascot's name to be plastered all over hats and shirts? Can anyone think of another school that does this? We're the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets, not the Georgia Tech Buzz.

Well don't buy it. I don't buy GT hats I dislike. If the word buzz doesn't make money I doubt Adidas will market it. If they do I guess someone is buying the product.
 
I'm gonna say it again... I want us to go back to a giant Tech gold blazer for our mascot... old school.

It's called branding, and I believe products like that hat hurt it. I also think it is up to GT what trademarked (?) stuff can get marketed on an officially licensed product, not adidas.
The adidas deal is a big step in the right direction. I hope GT pays more attention to what is being made for us fans to ensure we get a better, more consistent product.

Is there a lot of this gear floating around? I haven't encountered it. I do have a shirt with GT and "Ramblin' Wreck". I guess that is more analagous to an Auburn shirt that says "War Eagle" though. I agree that hat is an odd choice.

There's not a lot, but examples aren't hard to find. I guess I'm just sensitive to it.
 
Been a tech fan 30 years, seasonal Tix for 15 and put a couple of offspring thru the trade school and have not changed my opine in forever:

Our Buzz is a pussy. A pure unadulterated pussification of a real bee. He/she/it needs more MUSCLE in the costume and beef up those spindley-ass legs sticking outta that thing. Geezus that thing is embarrassing. As much as i'd like to shit on hairy dog's leg, at least he has muscle built into that costume and looks like he's made of something. And i effing hate all of those inbreds. But damn that sweat-bee costume sucks dack!!!! Geezus...shoot that costume and put me outta my misery.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

The female Atlanta pro hoops team plays at mccamish apparently. The new colors were on the court. I’m down with green as our primary color. F gold.

I think that’s just temporary due to renovations at Phillips Arena.
