Duh.....Pitino....just saying.Im kind of curious why this is a federal crime rather than a NCAA recruiting violation? I mean, I'd rather the FBI spend three years resources to bring down an organized crime gang than focusing on some recruiting shenanigans that *everyone* knows goes on at *every* school (except pure as snow GT, of course). It just seems like such a waste of time and money?
Just dropping in to say that the ACC got exactly what they thought they were getting with Louisville.

Well it won't be Russell either. They informed our team today they are done making uniforms as of 12/15/2017.
The complaint alleges fraud of scholarship money from the Universities. Then there is money laundering because of a bunch of fake PO's, invoices and checks. But money laundering needs an underlying criminal act, which is technically defrauding NCAA. It's legally true, but absurd.
From what I can tell, the FBI didn't go out looking for it. FBI has a "CW-1" at many of the meetings, who I guess got in trouble for a real crime and flipped on this Mickey Mouse öööö. It made a good press release to say sleazy agents and big shoe companies are laundering money. But everybody except the Universities are better off in the transaction (i.e. players, assistant coaches and companies).

So have we cancelled the agreement or are you just pontificating? There is no way Adidas will represent Tech. Check out the ESPN article...

How are the other companies that didn't bribe their way into winning contracts better off? The Russells of the world? Is it a surprise that schools are abandoning these smaller companies in favor of the large companies that seem to help bring talent to their schools? It turns out that kids don't like going to Adidas, UA or Nike schools just because they like what their shoes look like, but because those companies are paying students to go to schools that sign contracts with them, helping land them future business.
Everyone says that sports are big business because it's true, there are large contracts and real dollars at stake here. And like in business, bribery and corruption is illegal.
How is paying a family $100,000 under the table in order to secure a future contract worth millions 'Mickey Mouse öööö'? How is paying a coach $50,000 so that he can exert his influence at a public institution to direct business to you 'Mickey Mouse öööö'?
Are you mad that there is a prosecutor investigating the City of Atlanta for developers making payments to win contracts? Is that Mickey Mouse öööö too, where everyone is better off?
Just because the sports world has been corrupt as öööö for a long time doesn't mean its not illegal or worth FBI time to investigate.
I enjoyed your post and I am not trying to go off-topic, but this gave me a vision or a hallucination. Years from now, Mark Richt has retired from coaching and hosts a local Atlanta sports radio show called "Radio Retirement with Reverend Richt" which doesn't so much talk about football, really, as it does life lessons and being a good man - or woman, the Reverend doesn't judge anyone who's straight, white, right with the Lord. The Miami ponzi scheme guy confessed to it to Yahoo and he was already in federal jail.
....
And that's it. Richt vanishes forever after giving the world an explosive enema.
