After last night, is anyone else concerned about the VT game?

I’ll worry about USF, Pitt, Clemson, Bowling Green (well, not so much), Louisville and Duke before I do any worrying about vpisu.

Our defense better turn it up a few notches.

The big surprise to me was how effective Foster's boys were against a team they hadn't seen before

They had plenty of film to study from Taggart's previous stops.
Va Tech was OK. But the upshot FSU is pretty bad on the offensive line still. And Taggart isn't going to get away with coaching mistakes in the ACC he could get away with at WKU or USF.
FSU is headed for another 6-6 season.

FSU has a pretty garbage O-Line, has been for a couple years. A crap O-line will make the opponent's D look artificially nasty.

That’s the right attitude! I can’t imagine what would happen to the team if the fans started looking ahead beyond the next opponent! Focus people!

Not much more than I was before the game. They recovered 6/6 fumbles (4 of their own, 2 of FSU's) and Francios threw them 3 picks. That sure helps you look better.
It all depends on their offense, honestly.

I am concerned for Willie Taggart.

Yeah that was the main takeaway. Suddenly that preseason anonymous coaching poll that listed him as the first or second biggest “pretender” becomes more interesting. Coaches deserve some time to install their roster and gameplan. But the bigger issue was that he was not adjusting in-game and his game management was just embarrassing.

Our defense will come to play and its gonna be a very long, boring, low scoring defense fest type of games.

Taquon will throw the winning touchdown to Searcy from the 42 as the clock expires, making me eat crow. 14-7 Jackets win.

Didn't embarrass me.

I will reserve judgment until I see VT play a team that puts an OL on the field. I suspect Frenchie is hoping to have some sort of minor injury before FSU plays Clemson's DL. Will any FSU QB be willing to line up behind that OL when they play Clemson?

He’s way in over his head. He will win some based on talent alone, but FSU looks to be headed for the post Urban UF slump.
