Contrary to the evidence of the last three years I'm feeling that Tech might actually be decent/respectable this year? I think back to the charade of the last three years of the clown show and can't believe I actually feel even a twinge of optimism. If Sims can stay upright, and healthy, maybe Long can actually utilize his strengths instead of having him try to do something he's not. Maybe having one strong voice in the defensive backfield will make a difference instead of the mass confusion that has been the hallmark of the clown show. Perhaps having some well regarded transfers on the offensive line will stop defenses from counting to half Mississippi before they have the QB or RB on the ground in the backfield? Maybe the clown actually taking a bigger part of the defense will actually make a difference?

I think so but I’m storing whiskey and tempering my expectations.

Whatever happened to the StingTalk "Butthurt Futures" market? I've never been a gambling kind of guy, but seems like this could be a rare investment opportunity.

If our O-line can be half way decent and our defense make/force some plays then I will have some hope.

Questions to answer ......

Is the clown still there?
Is the DC clown still there?
What makes you think (other than hope) the QB is less likely to get hurt this year than in years past?
Were the transfers on the Oline well regarded in high school or college?

Sadly this coach has taken us where only a few coaches have taken us before. It won't get better until he leaves. Sorry.

The head coach sets the culture and the tone and makes decisions on game day that influence the outcome. He hasn't changed. Still spewing the same öööö he has been for the last three years.

Reality is a bitch.

I think we will have such a bad start, we will not be able to recover. I think we play Clemson close, which will grow the expectations. We will win against WC, which will make some start pounding their chests. We then get boat raced by Ole Miss, lose to UCF and Pitt. By the time Duke rolls around, we will see how the team reacts. Will they still be hungry for wins or will they be ready to fold and call it? That remains to be seen. I think the Duke, UVA, FSU and VT stretch will be what determines whether Collins gets canned or not. I hope I am wrong, but I don't see anything that shows we will do better than 3 wins.

Yep. That is about all I say to this. Yep...

I can’t remember but did Sims get hurt in 2020?

I also have a sense of optimism. I feel like Georgia Tech, at the core, always has a chance to surprise people. I’ve seen Tech punch so many teams in the mouth unexpectedly so many times. I can’t wait to finally give Dabo a much needed loss to the team he hates to lost to the most.

but then again, Collins needs to coach this team to a victory. We shall see.
Go Tech

I have been waiting for the sign and I got it at a restaurant in Selbyville, DE last week. Only two things were scratched into the wall across the table from me.

I also notice that Collins has been trying to change his style and is more serious and we've made some major changes. Here's hoping!

"Decent and respectable" isn't good enough if it doesn't result in 6 or more wins. Results are what matters.

It’s that time of year. Everyone is optimistic about their teams. Trust your gut from November. We’re not gonna surprise anyone, unless you think winning 4-5 games is “surprising.”

I pity the fool that “pounds his chest” for beating W Carolina.

I’m definitely in “wait and see” mode. I’m definitely not on the hype train, but depending on how things go I might buy a seat if the train goes somewhere worth going to.
