Am I the only one who is thinking this?

I doubt you're the "only one." But you are in a teeny, tiny, little minority.

I think you are just high on the fact that football season starts in a month and we are undefeated as of now. Come back and check in after the Clemson game.

Trust me, if we suck again I wouldn't be surprised. It's kinda like hoping a loser relative is getting their life together after blowing multiple chances. If they do, great. If not, you're not shocked.
 
Hard to pinpoint any 1 deficiency as being the biggest problem for the team, but bad OCing was definitely 1 major problem and that sounds like it’s been upgraded. I’m not expecting the D to change its stripes, but if they’re less gassed because of a more efficient O, it could help.

I’m hopeful we start turning the corner this year but not expecting it. Our lines still need years of development to be a solid program, but a gritty serviceable team that finds ways to win would be acceptable in the meantime.

And if not we look for a new HC this offseason. No reason not to be optimistic regardles.

I know the schedule isn’t easy. But this is year 4. There are seven winnable games in the ACC plus WC. If we do not go bowling Collins has to go.

I share your optimism about the offense. But they are going to have to score a lots of points, because I just don’t see the defense being any better than mediocre.

I have finally realized the value of the triple option and possessing the football on offense and keeping the D off the field. Paul Johnson knew what he was doing.
 
Too many ifs.
Too many maybes.
And from my view, no faith at all in the clown coach. His continued incompetence has eradicated any sense of optimism I might have had. Unless there is some sort of Invasion of the Body Snatchers thing to take place in the next few weeks, I just don't see Clown conjuring up enough wins out of his nose and shoes or the flower that squirts water.
