An inept staff for our offense

Peery is not the Temple transfer.
Peery is behind Sims, Yates who no longer plays unless Sims is injured, and also behind the guy behind the guy that will never play again unless Sims is injured. Sorry, that doesn’t sound to me like he’s got any chance of seeing the field ever at GT unless he’s a XP holder. We went from rotating QBs ever single damn play to never, ever, ever letting any other play other than the starter. Not like there’s any difference on the defense. I’m sure if we gave up 10 straight TD passes watching some WR run right by us, we’d still have the same dudes back there watching the other team’s WRs running right by us on the next series. It’s how we roll.

As I said earlier, Collins does not replace starters. Competition is not King.

If I‘m Mason or Gibbs no way I’m coming back next year. Mason has the time to go pro and has enough tape. Gibbs has enough tape to pull a Chase and go train. The NFL guys won’t hold it against him because they know Collins/Patenaude will ride him to fight for their jobs. No way would I want GIbbs to be abused by a lame duck staff next year.
Jamie Newman says hello.

Hell, the coaching staff has spent the entire offseason running around practices and media availabilities wearing shirts that say “W.I.N.21” on them, proclaiming that winning is “What’s Important Now”. Here’s what I expect will happen: the team will play out this season, and will probably win 3-4 games, similar to recent years. After 3 years, Geoff Collins will fire at least one (if not both) of his coordinators, finally making changes to the staff that remains intact from when they were originally hired almost 3 full years ago, and some will say we need to give his program a second chance with the new coaching staff. Next year, there will be some sort of offseason slogan on shirts and hats like “W.I.N.B.A.T.T.” (which, of course, stands for “W.I.N., But Actually This Time”), we’ll hear about how great the new schemes are looking and how everyone’s getting better every single day, and we’ll talk about expectations that the team will be able to win 7-8 games. They won’t, and instead will go about 5-7 with at least one downright head-scratching loss. Geoff Collins will be relieved of his duties as Georgia Tech’s head coach, and we’ll start the process all over again, hopefully with some improved on-field results.

Based on what I saw on Saturday, this isn’t working, and it isn’t going to work if this is what 30 months of building has resulted in. I wasn’t expecting the team to be in a place to beat playoff-caliber Clemson or georgia teams, or even to win the division against clearly talented-but-flawed Pitt and Miami teams. I was expecting this program to be in a place where they could score an easy win over a completely outmatched opponent and show some progress that would indicate that the players are actually being coached.

Well, they’re not. And if that’s the case, then I can pretty well see how the next 1-2 seasons are going to go.

It’s over. It’s just a matter of time at this point — we’re in the endgame now.

Does that include the number of times our QB short hopped passes to him?
This. Sims has an accuracy problem that is not entirely related to the OL. Accuracy problems are not easily corrected, kinda like speed and height. He is an outstanding athlete, like King at Miami....look what has happened since an accurate Freshman QB replaced him.

He may have had an accuracy problem yesterday, but I believe he was above 60% completion rate on the season. When is the last time we have had a QB near that? Godsey?

Jeff Sims is not the issue on this team.

The defense is pathetic. However, in this game, they gave us turnovers while the offense only scored 21 points. The offense had a chance to tie or win twice. Once after the kick off then after the D made a stop.
I loathe Patenaude. It's a team game. Arguing if the OC or the DC is worse is like arguing which end of a turd smells worse.

Man, you nailed it and we completely whiffed. The goal for this year was to WIN21- win 2 D1 games and 1 D1-AA game. We’ve reached our goal and didn’t even know it!!!!

I can see it now, next year is WIN22. 2+2=4. We’re gonna get to 4 wins next year!
