Jon Gruden?Tom Herman to Texas, Jimbo Fisher to LSU, Lane Kiffin to FSU, and Les Miles to Houston. That would be awesome.

I am not gonna big cry this. I just gave you a pass.
But the virtual one doesn't go against his scorecard.Virtual big cry. Easier to just hit the button.
Surely FSU wouldn't hire Kiffin. His next chance is gonna be a2d tier place I would think. Perpetual P5 loser or hopeful G5 place.Tom Herman to Texas, Jimbo Fisher to LSU, Lane Kiffin to FSU, and Les Miles to Houston. That would be awesome.
We will know how far down they have to go. When Strong was hired, Red McCombs undermined him immediately. Strong had no chance.Surely FSU wouldn't hire Kiffin. His next chance is gonna be a2d tier place I would think. Perpetual P5 loser or hopeful G5 place.
Bullshit. Texas still has all the advantages of being Texas. We will know how far down they have to go. When Strong was hired, Red McCombs undermined him immediately. Strong had no chance.

Bad fit. Like Rich Rod at Michigan. Was never going to work. Like Jerry Dinardo at LSU. Like the HS clown ND hired for a year or two.
So you're saying just stand pat. Continue on with 7&5 seasons with a "nothing bowl"an a decreasing fan base? This is another example of how hard it is to run a successful football program, even with all the advantages and recruiting opportunities that Texas has. Some of the Tech fans need to keep this in mind when they start calling for a coaching change. The obstacles to success at Tech are considerably greater, and the wrong hire could take us down a path of 3-9 on a regular basis, not just one season out of nine.

No. I am saying it's hard to run a consistently successful football program, even with all the advantages of a factory school. There are fans who want to change coaches every few years, based on a short period of disappointment. They usually want to replace the coach with a guy that had one or two years of success somewhere else, or to hire an assistant from someplace that has a successful program. Tech is two years removed from an Orange Bowl win and top ten ranking, so we're not limited to 7-5 seasons and a "nothing bowl". We have a coach with a track record of decades of success as a head coach, and a record here that is a little better than we've historically been. If we change coaches, it could be better or it could be worse. Odds are it won't be better.
Spot on. This is the kind of perspective that few of our fans have, but all need. Obvs everybody wants 10+ wins & NY6 bowl every year, but few get it w/o cheating.
