correction for TCU they play Baylor this weekend.

The things that are about to happen to UNC should not be spoken about in polite company.

Wow, so 7 of those teams play each other in the next few weeks. Only 3 can survive.

Everyone is all on the SEC west's jock.

Ole Miss: legit win over Bama (who beat WVU and UF), Boise St (who lost to Air Force) and a hot garbage Vanderbilt team.

Miss St: legit win over aTm and what is turning out to be a turrible LSU team

Aubie: Stole one against KS (they just gave that game away) and thumped a bad LSU team

LSU: see above, their only notable win is against a Wiscy team who lost to Northwestern

aTm: beat a pretty bad USCe team (who lost to Kentucky?!?) and lost Miss St.

Bama: beat WVU and UF. UF is horri-bad. WVU has zero decent wins.

I mean. I just am not seeing the big deal here. If they win some OOC games against teams with a pulse then ok. But, 85% of this is just ESECPN hype.

I agree with all of this, but the SEC hype machine has been happening since 2006

The worst case scenario is two sec schools make it in the playoffs and BOTH win their semi-final games staging an sec-only championship. I would be shocked to see two sec schools on the same side of the bracket.

Best case scenario is two sec schools make it into the playoffs and both LOSE their semi-final games. That would be awesome!

If no SEC teams made the playoffs, you'd have an 8 team playoff next year. They'd lawyer up some magic, sign some more bowls, and presto, like it wasn't even a problem.

Keep in mind that we were within a TD of Old Miss in the 4th quarter. And our Offense AND Defense are both improved over last year.

The sum of our opponents records is .575. Meaning we have played teams with winning records. If you remove Tulane, that jumps to 0.643. We're not necessarily playing any slouches.

They are the 2008-2009 LSU of 2013-2014.

At least 3 more go down this weekend. Miss State plays Auburn, Ole Miss plays Texas A&M in College Station, Texas, TCU plays Baylor. I predict all 3 of these will lose this week. Arizona plays USC and they could lose as well. Of course we could go down too but hopefully not.

Go Jackets!

I can't see any scenario in which that happens. ESPN will NOT let it happen.
That's not really fair. The SEC will definitely have one team that deserves to be in it.

There's a lot of hype, especially when you start going down the list of their highly ranked teams, but they still have some of the best teams in the nation. They didn't win all those BCS titles based purely on hype, and it's tough to envision a scenario where the SEC champion wouldn't deserve to make the playoff.

What really stood out to me was Baylor's ranking and absolutely worthless competition to date. Ranked at #5 is just sticking out like a sore thumb.

The game against TCU should be revealing.
