Another example of NCAA being dumb

Let me see if I have the summary of this correct.

- Kid starts at UNC Central, 2 hours from Charlotte where he grew up.

- Kid transfer to Kent State after COVID.

- Kid has a good season and decides he want to transfer again, says it’s b/c mental health / his fam is sick and he wants to be closer to home in Charlotte.

- Kid visits Rutgers (10 hours from Charlotte), doesn’t visit Charlotte schools (0 hours from Charlotte), and decides on UNC (2 hours from Charlotte).

- NCAA denies him immediate eligibility because he’s transferred twice.

- UNC appeals because he didn’t play at UNCC b/c of COVID.

- NCAA denies appeal because he still transferred twice.

- Mack Brown cries about the NCAA enforcing a rule that he himself lobbied to be put into place.

- NC government gets involved.

- NCAA magically finds new evidence and grants immediate eligibility.

Is that pretty close?

Is that pretty close?
You missed one.

In addition to expected NCAA penalties, the ACC office is unveiling an unprecedented crackdown on member schools as part of its zero tolerance policy and issued the following statement:

For Immediate Release:
Any ACC school that defeated the University of North Carolina during the time an ineligible player played at least one series for UNC will automatically be stripped of said victory and immediately forfeit and vacate the win on the basis that said member school knowingly competed in an athletic contest featuring ineligible athletes. As a conference, all member schools share the responsibility to uphold the highest standards of athletic competition with regard to the eligibility of student-athletes.

When ineligible athletes participate, no one wins and this is the ACC's way of showing all of college football that we take ineligibility seriously.

Similarly, the University of North Carolina will vacate any game against a member school in which the member school forfeits the game due to the participation of ineligible athletes.
