Funny, the last time they won an NC they got hit with violations. That was back in the 1980's and few are alive who remember.

The NCAA is going to remember they forgot to punish us for those aquarium tickets and take away our opening touchdown last year in Athens because the NCAA doesn't tolerate rule breakers.

Oh, and nothing to see at UGA, it's been handled.

With NIL being legal what type of violations would warrant more than a slap on the wrist?

Hopefully this Twitter rumor is true and they are investigating the racing deaths scandal. If anything ever needed investigation it's that. A student-athlete and another person died. Because of UGA's relationship to college football.

Tampering? Although with the portal that may not be the “crime” it once was. Isn’t there still rules about progress towards a degree? I would suppose paying play outside of NIL is still against NCAA rules.

Loaning out unmonitored cars to players/handlers that result in the deaths of players/handlers, idk.

But agree, the machine is too far gone now. Even if they strip them of the titles (they won’t) nobody would even care anymore. Like okay yeah they cheated on the test, but you’re literally selling diplomas on the sidewalk over there. Why the öööö are you even still giving them tests?

And in the end, it doesn't matter. We still lay claim to our 2009 ACC "vacated" championship. UGAg will always still claim the latest two nattys, even if the NCAA makes them vacate every win for the past two seasons - which the NCAA won't do.

Punishment will be cutting the number of coaches on the road recruiting, which doesn't matter, and maybe some other stupid penalty like taking 2 days off their recruiting cycle.

I agree, but the national coverage of it will at least hold them up to public derision.

They can claim whatever they want, doesn't make it valid. Nobody we played in 2009 thinks Tech didn't win the ACC championship fairly, the NCAA just got their panties in a wad over telling our players they were going to be interviewed about a t shirt. Plenty of people will dismiss uga's nattys if they think they were actually cheating.

Anyone who thinks this will amount to more than the equivalent of suspending one player for the first half of a game against Western Carolina is gonna be very disappointed.

Nothing of consequence will happen - what you are seeing are boxes being ticked for CYA. Look to Chicago during prohibition for what's really going on.

Yeah there are still rules but something like tampering is a slap on the wrist in every league in the country.

My understanding is that even with our Flunkgate the real damage was that it pissed off The Hill. U[sic]GA won't have that issue.

NCAA will apologize to Georgia for catching them breaking the rules, hand them another championship to make up for it, then punish some Division 2 team as a show of its force for moral good.

I think they will get hit this time. Being an almost SEC champion is one thing. Winning the national title two years in a row is another. They have a big target painted on their back and they’re not Alabama.
