Any insight on whether Tenuta stays??

Boys got a chip on his shoulder as well. He grew a lot mentally this past year. He's wrestling now for the Walton group. He is hilarious on the mat. To him it's like WWF and he gets away with it. His first match is at the Walton Classic Saturday. I gots plans for him lol.

Heck, I was 5' 8" 145 at age 22!

tenuta=bye bye
:( :ugh:

EDIT: the guys in statesboro are real high on a guy named John Pate I think his name is, any word on who PJ is contacting? I think Pate might have been a D positions coach or Coord when PJ was there?

So basically "mini-fridge" already shops at the Tall & Big men shop, and he's due for another growth spurt. For the record I've never been 6'1 or 198 lbs or wore a size 13 shoe; but I was 13 a few decades ago.

If Tenuta is making $400K and can get $600K, that's a 50% increase and a very motivating figure.

On the other hand, we're talking Atlanta vs. Lose-anner. Further, if JT liked coaching the D under CG, he ought to love coaching the D under PJ. He wouldn't have to move his family and he knows the ropes at Tech.

I say that if PJ wants to keep JT and the money is right, JT will stay.

Typically, when a current staff member is passed over as a head coach, the new coach does not want that person around. It could cause dissention in the ranks. I am not saying it would, but the perception is that it could. This was the case with Coach McWhorter many years ago. I agree that there is no way PJ will retain Tenuta.

However in this case, there sounds like there could be a good relationship that already exists between CJT and CPJ. If that is the case, and we are competitive with pay, why would he stay? I would think the expectations would be greater on him with LSU than us, plus Atlanta is home right now. Just some thoughts and wishful thinking.

Hmmm... Excellent point.

That rationale and big money from WhoSU might bust up the Dream Team. Maybe not?

Damn.

I believe the number is $350K, but either way you do realize that $600K is more than either of those numbers, aren't you?

The number is $400k.

Yes, I realize that's less than $600k, but it is not like he's not highly paid to begin with (he's in the top ?2 or 3? coordinators nationally), and it's not like $600k is a 3x increase like it would be for most coordinators, which was the point.

Have a nice evening...Mike

I agee, but i'm not so sure that Tenuta was gung-ho about the HC job in the first place. I think he enjoys what he does, which is coaching defense. If he really wanted the job and got passed up, I think CPJ will release him (which I think would be a smart move). But, if he wasn't all that interested in the job in the first place, I think there is a good chance he will stay irregardless of the $$$ lure at LSU.

I have no idea if this comes close to JT's take, but it would not surprise me a bit.
I can see him wanting to take his defensive mind to the NFL as a co-ord after a year or two in the league.

By all accounts JT wants to be a head coach. I think it's silly to suppose he doesn't.

Personally I'm always on the lookout for a job that would triple my income.

Dont take this to the bank just yet but I think Giff stays and Jon leaves. I think its safe to say almost all the offensive staff will be gone. I expect us to maybe keep on 2-3 coaches one being Giff who I think is a definite to stay on now. Sewak coming in could be a possibility as well as 3 from Navy it looks like. The staff may be rounded out as early as next week. I hope Jon stays but it will be very tough. Andy McCollum has been rumored to be a possible candidate to come to GT as well.

If these coaches are indeed terminated....how do you calm the RIPPLE effect as we approach the bowl game....Not to mention who will coach the team during the bowl? How good are these coaches that PJ is placing on staff? Better than the ones he is getting rid on ??? DC???

So is it safe to assume:

Staying = Giff and BJ

Maybe = Tenuta and Kelly

Gone = Offensive Staff

If Giff stays, will he be DC?
