Wake up people! We are horrible! Our recruiting is horrible! Our coaching is horrible! Listen to WnE! He knows exactly how to fix it. Fire the coaches. Get new coaches that will never take any lesser ranked Rivals QB and allow Michigan to take one he thinks is better. It is very simple. All players want to come to GT. They don't because Dave Braine said we won't win 9 games and our fans accept mediocrity. They also want a new coach!

Chan is an idiot for taking the 3 star #25 QB and passing on the 3 star #23 QB (Michigan) and the #65 QB (BC).

Brilliant insight! No way I can argue with that. Maybe BC will trade to make WnE happy.

Is there a shred of respect left? Does the hole have a bottom?

If you don't disagree with the AD of GT saying this then no offense... you're a moron about college athletics. Its one thing to say this amongst your friends and believe that. Hell, that's been our history. But if you think its ok for our AD to say this publicly, then you simply don't get it and probably won't ever. On top of that, you have no clue what builds programs. That type of attitude is worse than those that openly flame everything about the program publicly.

How do you expect to market a program to sidewalk fans who you need to fill your stadium by saying in so many words.. "Hey, we might be good every now and again, until then, enjoy the cheap seats and the bag of peanuts".

Dave Braine has caused more damage to our program with what he said on public radio and also saying stuff like GT football is the 3rd hardest coaching job in the country. It probably has been the 3rd hardest program in the country over the last 3 years. But that has more to do with the fact that we have a GTAA that has implemented or been a part of programs that hinder athletics as opposed to supporting them.

I have and they are MUCH MORE POLISHED PASSERS AT THIS STAGE THAN B. Ingram.

We'll have to wait for 3+ yrs. to pass to see who is correct.

What could possibly be the upside of publicly coming on here complaining about a player who wants to come here not being as good as two kids who obviously aren't coming here and are at best only arguably better.

After all, CCG has given us 1 year of AJ Sucks and 3 years. of RB (aka "Leon"); combined this has arguably been the 4 WORST YEARS OF QB PLAY IN GT's MODERN FB HISTORY!

And you trust CCG's judgement; talk about drinking the "kool-aid"!

You know what kills me NC, we have a great defense and defense wins championships. but we have people on here who can't or won't accept that. Yes our offense needs improvement and i have always said that, but for the first time in my life we have an outstanding defense and all people do is complain.

I'll take a 10-9 game anyday of the week, does that make me mediocre?

All people care about is bashing Chan and now it seems that a few have resorted to calling our SA's names. That doesn't sound like much of a fan to me when people on here name call our KIDS. But to each his own.

I thought it was about the Ws, but I guess it's really about how you win for some people. Like I've said, the offense needs to improve but some don't realize that our offense also helped the D by keeping them out of short field situations most of the year. A great defense with an offense that turns the ball over won't keep teams out of the end zone.

Then don't say stupid things and I won't go off on a tirade. I DON'T understand why he said those words. As an AD, its flat out stupid. I don't disagree with WHAT he said. I disagree with the fact that he SAID them and I don't understand WHY he said them. Is this what you are saying, or are you saying you understand WHY he said them? His words are very damaging and contradictory to what the goals in the GTAA are or at least should be. That's why I completely disagree with WHY he said them, as you should too.

2. "I never said I agreed with him saying these things publicly." TRANSLATION: I wish he hadn't.

3. "But I understand why he did it." TRANSLATION: He did it because he wanted to protect Gailey (and all GT coaches) by speaking honestly about how unrealistic our fans' expectations are in light of the realities at GT.

And finally, a new point, i.e., one not previously made by me or distorted by you: Yes, I think what he said publicly could hurt recruiting. There will be opposing coaches who twist his words into "You'll never win championships at GT." Only time will tell if this type of negative recruiting has an impact on our pool of prospects. THAT'S why I wish he hadn't said it publicly, but I refuse to believe that we are doomed at this point.

P.S.--Have you seen a list of the GTAA goals? You really should look at them BEFORE you remark about what they are. Of course, that won't keep you from opining about what they should be...
