I don't think we sucked. We were just somewhere between mediocre and better than mediocre. Like, barely better than mediocre. We did beat the crap out of Va Tech and played very well against UVa and Da U. That's a level above suck.

We played poorly against Uva and got lucky to win.
Our defense was bad. Our offense was good statistically but bad.

We weren't a very good team. Rarely prepared to play, didn't take care of the ball consistently, and bad on special teams. We had the talent to be a much better team by record. If we played with some of the other "smart school's" focus we'd have been 9-3 going into the bowl game.
