As regards the Steam Whistle

That is what I thought. I hope it wasn't a Reck club decision, since the Wreck was just restored again, to treat it with kid gloves from here out. The Reck club, it seems now, has little moron assholes in it instead of car loving, "we can fix this bitch and keep it running types" that used to be in the club.
I guess it is just a sign of the times. I'm old
If they want to kid glove the car, don’t pile a bunch of cheerleaders on the running boards and standing on the new upholstery.

Let Todd know.
I hope Todd, and more importantly Mike Castle, are reading this board. They should be. It is the only GT board of any substance.
If you are up on social media and not reading this board, Castle, you aren't fit to eventually be a high paid AD somewhere - which hopefully is your goal. Make things happen. It is your career.

I look at my career like this
1) what happened last week
2) what happens this week and next week
3) challenges that I, and the company, are facing in the short term and the long term
4) successes to date - professional and personal.
Now fix öööö

Here is the player walk as the Wreck comes through...idiot Reck club members get in the way repeatedly shouting "MOVE BACK!!!! MOVE BACK!!!" even though you could drive a truck through the space it has. Hey little asshole, I've been coming to GT games my entire life, 53 years, pretty much, and have yet to injure the Wreck by watching it drive past.

The Reck Club has always been a bunch of Greek do gooders looking to exert authority. Sounds like nothing has changed.

They just seem worse now. I wonder how many of them actually know how to work on a car? The Reck club, if I ran it, would have conditional membership. It would be based on the condition that you brought some valuable skill for the maintenance and repair of the Wreck to the club.

Did Buzz run into the goal post?

Yes, but not in a noticeable fashion as traditionally.

And did anyone notice, after pregame ceremonies, the band did not march off the field? They just kind of walked off like “let’s go find our seats “.

I always liked the steam whistle. I also liked the starting player intros. Reading a list of above the line players at each position is meh.

I'll give it to the band, they are hard core about their traditions

They even continue their beta boy bitching about RRC years after they graduate

I don’t recall any bitching about the RRC while I was in the band. I had friends in RRC, but it still doesn’t change that most of the club is Greeks looking for leadership opportunities.

Fair enough.

If it makes you feel any better, when I was in the club we limited how many members could be from a single frat/sorority, and I did my best to weed out resume builders in lieu of GT-loving zealots.

Related - much respect to Chris Moore. Glad he is still leading the band.

If they want to be business leaders, they need to learn forecasting and a bit of business acumen. The Reck Club scarfs are already sold out. A good business person, a leader, would see the following:
bad forecast, not enough inventory and/or bad supply chain, price of $28 perhaps too low.
Now get your marketing and economic books out and study. You left money on the table.

I appreciate what the RRC does. They keep an 80 year old car in pristine condition and running. I have one so I know it’s not an easy task. Plus they drive it all over creation for weddings such as mine. That’s all good stuff.

And this former band guy has already sent an email to Todd complaining that the RRC’s most visible function - the Wreck leading the team on the field- did not happen.

To be fair, a business in Maysville just restored it to pristine condition, not the club. They may have facilitated the restoration, but experts did the work. Sure, they raised money for it, but that money would be easily raised through fans and alums if word were put out the Wreck was in peril.

Speaking of keeping an old car running. Tuning day on the Ranchero

Yea the Wreck leading the team on the field is cool, they shouldn't get rid of that

I feel like this should be obvious

The whistle I don't care so much. Whistles are loud and annoying. U of Iowa has one they blew every day for like 100 years but they stopped earlier year. Good riddance

Blow it for school if you want but every TD having a whistle sound is annoying

The real whistle is hard to hear in the stadium. The first down whistle has always been a synthetic coming from the PA. I’d be really surprised if the real steam whistle was not blowing on scores.

I’m more concerned about not running out behind the ‘Reck. To me that is like Clemson not running down the hill, Osceola not planting the flag, and the Sooner Schooner not lapping the field.

....., or Bevo not attempting to annihilate UGA xyz. (I know that wasn't part of the run out, but)

It's a whole new world my friend where everyone needs to feel wanted (inclusion), because if not then someone's self esteem may become damaged.
