At this point with Kirby

Kinda scary to see how much these criticisms of Kirby mirror those ST had for Gailey.

Yeah, I think that is the over-riding criticism or at least reputation: Kirby is a early 2000s coach, not a 2019 coach. He wants UGA to be Bama during the start of the Saban run but most of college football has moved on. Time will tell if the Defense first, ball control offense is better than the alternatives.

Saban realized he needed to move along several years ago. It is how they changed from frat boy QB's

I assumed that criticisms of that answer were exaggerated but they were not. Don't see Collins ever doing that.

It would have been so easy to say: we are young and inexperienced and then had a bunch of injuries at that position. Our guys are battling and will be great players but they are a work in process. Those LSU guys are experienced and playing at the top of their game.

That is it, you didn't have to put it on them to deflect from coaching. He was basically claiming: "we should be just as good of LSU but our guys are duds". 1) I don't think that is true 2) LSU has some great WRs; it doesn't hurt to give them credit and say that is where your guys will be in the near future.

Ha. You guys are as bad as Georgie fans. Kirby has built a championship defense. They ran into one of the best offenses in the country, and actually held their own for a half. Eventually, their O kept them on the field too long, and it got away from them in the second half. Georgie is just fine. Talent is good. Coaching is good (except they don’t run near enough). They’re in the playoffs if their all-American kicker doesn’t miss against USC.

No, they didn't "hold their own" for a half. They were down more than we were to them at halftime, and LSU was abusing them. No one with a fully functional brain could've watched that first half and thought the two teams were comparable.

The only thing you said that wasn't completely dumb is that their talent is good.

No clue, especially since he was one of our best defenders

I think he had stints in the NFL so it could have been there. Could have been HS; could have been during the recruiting process. Doubt it was at Tech

His offer sheet out of high school was not heavy with P5 teams, so my guess is that's at least part of what he's alluding to.

Amazing that dummy thinks receivers were the issue. If I asked anyone with the understanding of the game of a 9 year old who plays X-Box how you beat a team with a prolific offense they would say “Play solid defense and run the ball to control the clock.”

It was lack of the run game, not WRs that led to the embarrassment. They lose anyway, but it would have been closer. And there’s no reason with that big OL and talented RBs they shouldn’t have been able to do that.

It’s just poor coaching. But we’ve seen that before from him— the fake punt. The pooch kickoff.

Kirby is no upgrade over Richt. UGA would have done better with Mack Brown or Many Diaz.

I think Dwag fans were okay inching closer to Bama both in score and recruiting but are probably now not happy that some other program rose up and passed them by.

I want to know what the gaggers saw in Kirbs that would make them want to hire him. Just "worked for Saban and played for UGAg?"

I hope to God kirbs never hires a great OC and stays out of his way, someone like Kendall Brilles etc
