Your argument is that the last regular season team to beat Clemson can't beat Clemson because they were the last regular season team to beat Clemson.
 
That 2014 team is gone. If we hadn't put up a 3-9 while watching the tiggers dance to the natty game and come up 5 shy to Bama, i would be feeling it. So GT is going to bang Clem because. ......

I did also say that i thought we could win, the intangibles favor us, and we don't yet know if this Clemson team compares to the last one. The data, the fresh data, leads me to conclude that we are a 8 pt dog. That is more optimistic than Vegas, so I'd take us to cover a 10.5 spread, but I'm having a hard time seeing a win. But, that is usually exactly when we do it.

1) things Tech did 2, 4 ,6, 8 years ago
2) clem is new money
3) clem != alabama
4) something about number of teeth of average clempsum redneck
5) cause coit said so
6) cause everyone is still hard from trashing poor Vandy
7) clem = baylor
8) cause Heisman top 3 player Watson is overrated

Is that about the run of it?

Who do you root for, anyway? It's college ööööing football, it isn't necessarily logical. The fact Tech has beaten ranked Clemson teams at BDS seems relevant to me, though.
 
Dude, stop being a dbag. The argument is simple: we look better than we did last year in every phase of the game and they look worse than they did last year in every phase of the game. That's no guarantee of victory but it is obvious why fans would feel positive about our chances.

Totally agree with you (apart from yet another uncalled for insult), and already made a very similar post. We have hopefully closed the gap enough to have an opportunity to win. We are healthy and confident. Intangibles favor GT. CPJ believes we can compete, and i always feel he is genuine. I am 100% for my alma mater and have been for 23 years.

I'm just saying i would not bet on a GT win given what we can observe. I doubt any of you would either. I'm encouraged by progress we made vs Vandy, and we have a legitimate chance of hitting big chunk plays given some of our skill guys, and improved pass blocking. On defense i don't think we have enough talent but i know we will play with great effort. However, it will take a few breaks, IMO, to overcome what is at least an 8 point difference in talent.

I reluctantly give credit to Clemson for an incredible run of recruiting and for huge investment in their program. Their success is not a temporary accident, unlike say Duke.
