The simple fact is, aside from a brief feel-good era in the early 80s, Tech wants nothing to do with playing Alabama and has not for the past fifty-plus years. The bad blood is still there, at least on their end. That acrimony of course also serves as a convenient excuse when Paul Johnson doesn’t want to see his perennial underachievers get seal-clubbed by the Thresher Maw in Tuscaloosa.

Otherwise, this is a lost rivalry. And that is a damn shame. Even worse, Georgia Tech holds a 33-year old, one-game winning streak over the Crimson Tide.

Alabama cancelled the planned series against us. Inbred rednecks. How in the hell black athletes play for a place that has a history of being a bastion of racist behavior is beyond me. Alabama, the entire state, is a shit hole.

Alabama and Georgia Tech had agreed to a home and away series to be played in 2012 and 2013. However, for reasons known only to GT administrators, the Yellow Jackets requested a “postponement.” That was in 2010. You can probably guess as to whether or not Tech administrators are taking Nick Saban’s call.

The last 2 non-con road games Alabama played was 2010 and 2011. The 2010 game was @duke. The reality is that Saban doesn't want to play non-con road games. Alabama most likely played those games just so they didn't have to fork over $ and because finding another opponent on short notice is difficult. Implying that we are scared to play Bama is straight up retarded when it is obvious that Bama will never come to Bobby Dodd.

Don't recall why and I'm not looking it up, but I think Bama was supposed to have a home and home with FSU and somehow it turned into a single game in Jacksonville. Bowden beat Saban. I'm gonna choose to remember this as Bama didn't wanna play at Doak.

Alabama wanted one game in Tuscalooser and one game in the Ga Dome with tickets split 50/50. We said hell no

öööö Bama and the inbred elephant they rode in on.

This.

We arranged a home and home, then they refused to play at Bobby Dodd, so we told them to take a hike. They paid us to get out of the deal I think though.

We have the best record against Bama of any program that has played them more than 5 times. Once was a really great rivalry, right behind Auburn and UT for them (and behind Auburn and UGA for us).

Obviously they've been the class of CFB since Saban's second year, but I'd love to play them.

TBH though both Saban and CPJ have stated publicly they are wary of adding tough OOC games. CPJ has been very clear that with UGA on the schedule every year he doesn't want to add another top tier opponent; he's focused on the conf champ more than scalp-hunting.

One of those places where I hope he doesn't get his way.

A few years ago I wanted GT to play Bama; but not so much now. We already play Clemson every year, and FSU and ND often enough, and of course UGA when they are good. This year we will play Clemson, UGA, Tenn, Miami, and probably a SEC team in a bowl game; I don't see a real need to add Bama (or Auburn for that matter) to that.
