Bama or VPI?

I don't think the a$$ whipping caused the implosion, I think Clemson was overhyped and should have been a$$ whipped. VPI on the other hand is supposed to be good, (still overhyped, but people are realizing it slowly), and for them to win against Bama and us to beat them is WAY better for our image/team morale/rankings than for VPI to get demoralized and we beat a team that stinks.

I agree with you completely. There were many other problems at Clemson besides the beatdown from Bama. But...if VT pulls this game out...they enter the season with some serious momentum. I guess that it is my concern and why I struggle to pull for them. But...agreed that it helps the conference and helps us if we in turn beat VT.

I think this game comes down to QB play. Both have or should have excellent defenses and average offenses. I do not really care who wins, but I say VT 13-10.

I also agree that Clemson was overhyped. They had one returning starting offensive linemen. Both Spiller and Davis were not power backs known to tear through arm tackles. I don't care that people called Davis "Thunder." Further, when Cullen Harper had his great year in 2007, they had four senior O-linemen. That's where the hype developed. They still had a decent D last year, but they were definitely overhyped. Tommy Bowden is not a great coach and Frank Beamer is. Beamer's team and Saban's team will be ready.

VPI ffs. As much as I hate them, Clemson's loss at the start of last season killed the ACC for the entire year. We need VPI to win so people don't start the year off with another "Wow, look how much the ACC sucks" mindset and so it'll look even better when we beat them. :)
