There has been MUCH discussion about whether Beeware has gone TOO far.

Even the Admins are split (Beestorm has had enough and I more tolerant (or ignorant)).

We want to hear how the members feel. The vote WILL NOT be dispositive either way, but it will be an important factor for any future decision.

The poll will be anonymous.

I for one really do not want BW removed but he should be issued a stern warning that any more bashing of the school, coaches or fans (like he called musturd) he will be removed. I read Mustards post on the hive and could not for the life of me find where he said anything about BW or any other poster. So there he goes again. I've noticed that he is the only one here (remember he was removed from the hive) who constantly berates the coaches, the AD, and fans who disagree with him. So he either changes his tone or he is gone. Maybe on second thought just get rid of him as a leopard doesn't change his spots.

The thing is, he has been warned in the past about his attitude. The repetitiveness of his responses lets me know that he doesn't listen to a thing that the people on here say. Even when the admins warned him last time, he never apologized, just made excuses and started right up again.

This is a Tech board. When I come here, I want to read about Tech, discuss Tech, and maybe sometimes argue about Tech. I do NOT come here to be insulted, or read about our coaches being insulted, or read about the athletic dept in general being insulted.

They say that one bad apple spoils the lot. It has never been more true than here.

The guy is holding this board back IMHO and he is
not really a "contributor" to Stingtalk. A real
contributor doesn't post the same tired diatribes
over and over and bash fellow posters.

Its sad really, since you can see in a FEW of his
posts that he has some valid opinions.

AMEN CULB, I want to read about Tech and from time to time I also disagree with the coaches calls. But we can discuss it reasonably and with the thought in our mind that we all love Tech and will stand behind our staff, AD and all the fans here and else where. So just get rid of him and get on with the true fans.

As long as BW doesn't dis our student-athletes, and doesn't use profanity or personal attacks, I say let him stay. I haven't seen him attacking the athletes, but he HAS cussed and personally attacked other posters, which is what got him nuked from the Hive, NOT his views on Braine and Gailey reguardless of what he claims. He has toned down his personal attacks some, but if that doesn't quit, remove his privilages.

Since he will not respond with any reasons why he holds his views, other than he liked the old staff that left better, his posts have no legitimacy. Ignore him.

I voted in the "I don't give a rat's arse" category. If you boot beeware based on his antics (which are amusing to me most of the time) then all of the whiners should be given the same treatment. IMO, These anti-beeware posts are as annoying as the coach and admin bashing posts are to said whiners. It's relatively easy to recognize a beeware post with the Grateful Dead avatar - if you have thin skin or you don't like his opinions, then don't read it.

I realize that we're playing "Half A-"Wake Forest this weekend but there must be something football related that we could be talking about.

Why not boot anyone that has a different opinion from these incessant anal-retentive whiners????

By the way for those of you that don't get it...I am not for banning anyone.

I mean..come on...what a bunch of crybabies.
Their posts have no value whatsoever except to bash me and call me names. I could care less what they post, but how infantile and juvenile can you get??

All I ask anyone to do is read my posts for what I really say....not what these crybabies make up that I say.

Where is the law written that TECH fans cannot tolerate another TECH fan having a different opinion?? Toe the whiny line or else???? SHEESH.

Question for beeware:

Do you honestly think this is about you having a different opinion, even though you've been told countless times that it isn't?

If so, why do you think that?

It just does not make sense that anyone could be a true backer of the white and gold and say over and over again the insulting, name-calling, illogical junk so prolifically all over the board so that the tone of Stingtalk "stings" our own. Visitors to the board pick up on this kind of ilk and carry away a terrible impression of a divided and chaotic fan base. The message must not be that the Yellow Jackets sting each other. UGag will be found with the Yellow Jackets flying around stinging UGag, not each other.

If BW were a verbal jouster doing fun stuff without the hurt (stings) involved, he would be doing legitimate debates fit for the public. But come on, he offends and offends. In boxing we call it hitting below the belt.

There are those who think that BW's barbs and stings are legitimate joustings, but that is because of the trend toward using hurtful statements in debates. I guess that is OK when debating an enenmy from another camp. But is it OK here? I say no.

I don't agree with all of his opinion's but why ban him from the board? If you don't like what he says don't read it/reply to it.

Censorship is bad.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Because his bashing makes Tech look bad. People on other boards read his stuff and think that it's the attitude of many Tech fans. UConn even started up with the "Braine-Dead" thing on their board. Is this how you want to be represented in public? Remember, a very vocal minority can say a lot more than a silent majority. And right now BW is the most vocal person here.

Am I next? This could be anyone? What is your favorite pet peeve?

I have many opinions that could possibly get me off the board.

I believe Nix should be the offensive coordinator instead of O'Brien.

I am getting mixed signals from Tenuta's defense in the past three games. I have begun to question some of his calls.

I definitely think all fans purchasing tickets have the right to boo the "coaches and referees", and, I advocate such, if the fan so desires. Now, watch some small minded person, that cannot defend their position against this statement, make a irrelevant remark of, "no one should ever boo the players". It will happen even though it is irrelevant to the above statement.

I believe every person has the right to express his views in the political arena and proclaim his cause, including running for office and lobbying for his cause, even if he is a Christian.

I believe every student in America should have the right to pray in school if he so desires and to have Christian clubs in school with voluntary membership. There are other false teachings, such as evolution, that are allowed.

I could go on, but you should get the picture by now.

What pet peeve do you think it would take to get you thrown of the board.

Personally, if I were BeeStorm and GTFan, I would monitor the board and make up my own mind about the situation. It is, indeed, dangerous to follow the crowd. Broad is the way that leadeth to destruction and many therebe that followeth the crowd.

Certainly, if a poster's continued remarks offend to the point the board loses members or does not gain new members, it would be appropriate for the poster to be banished.

If the poster uses denigrating language and personally attacks other posters, it is appropriate for banishment. If the poster makes disparaging remarks about student athletes, it is appropriate to banish him. However, it should be left entirely to the discretion of the GTFan and BeeStorm to make that decision.

Even Jesus was betrayed and sentenced to die by the persuasions of the elite of the board. However, there is also a little bit of irony in that action, "was it not better for one to die, and all of the remaining have a chance for life?'.

One last thought on the subject. Make a review on BeeWare's posts and see if he has improved over time, remained the same, or has gotten worse. I could be wrong, but it appears to me, he has improved somewhat on his omission of his favorite subject.

A restatement to BeeWare, "your constant complaint against Braine and Gailey has caused many of your allies supporting your view to abandon that position. Also, the continued whining about O'Leary, Mac, and Roof has caused the loss of many of your allies to your position regarding them. You have hurt your own cause more than any other person.

BeesNut I think your logic is somewhat flawed. First he rants and raves about GOL and his assistants. SO why does he never insist that GOL pay us the tax payers and fans of GT the 1.5 million that he owes us meaning of course GT. Lets hear him try to weasle out of that one. He was not fired but chose to leave then due to his resume he was out in the cold was that the fault of Tech? NO so come on BW explain yourself.

Ahso, here's the difference. You have your opinions. And trust me, I think some of them are pretty out there. But you have never bashed me for having a differing opinion than you. You have never bashed Gailey for his decisions. You make reasonable statements, and back them up with fact. I enjoy your posts as much as anyone's here.

Like I said, it's not the opinion, it's the manner. I made the analogy before...it's ok to have an opinion opposing abortion. Express that by bombing and you get jailed. It's ok to be against animal fur coats. Throw paint on people's coats and you pay the price.

Beeware, even in your post hear you say....

"Their posts have no value whatsoever except to bash me and call me names."

in the same post you're saying that posters are....

"incessant anal- retentive whiners."
"Bunch of crybabies"
"infantile and juvenile"

Here is a recent post of yours. There are numerous like it all over the board:

"clubbe...forrest clubbe,

YOU?... talking about having a "mature' discussion???????

Man. that IS funny!!!"

What real value does a post like that have? Talk about "petty name calling," as you like to calling it, "forrest clubbe."

The board is filled with post such as this from you. If you want to talk about name calling and being petty. I use the word "petty" because you have used it numerous times in the past.

GOO JACKETS! BEAT WAKE!

Beeware,

A little peice of advice (from someone who voted to keep you) do not post anymore NEGATIVE posts until this gets resolved.

As GSUJacket points out you lost his vote with your most recent post. Just let people have their say and you probably will get through this.

I think there should be some guidelines. The question is not whether an open forum is best for debate but whether or not there should be some guidelines for conduct. Check out the British parliament on C-SPAN sometimes. Those guys manage to disagree fairly vociferously without ever calling each other names or saying something to the effect of "the Queen is an idiot",etc. Its not just because they're afraid of being "thrown in the tower" either its out of RESPECT. There is a tactful way to express a disagreement of opinion.

Another point is that a msg board is a virtual environment where the other person cannot literally choke you if you offend him so its really quite cowardly to bash one another and perpetuate these petty little fights. Some etiquette should be "reserved" for fellow board members and the mods should enforce it at least to where StingTalk doesn't become anyone's personal bait shop,IMO. This is supposed to be a TECH "community."

I say shake hands, shut up with the inflammatory stuff, return to your corner, and lets agree on some simple association by-laws (hated to use that term) and live by 'em. This problem's not really breaking my @#$$% personally but I submit that that would be best overall and for the long run.
