Big 10 Continues Their Long Tradition of Choking

With the 12 team playoff we could actually make the playoffs. ACC being a dumpster fire actually helps our chances. Plus Big10 isn’t gonna offer us $250M to break out of contract. If you could they would do it for Clemson. Georgia Tech will make it to playoffs in 2025 and become relevant again. That strengthens our position for conference talks later.

Clemson's skill players are about as low as I've seen them in a while. They are not championship caliber at QB, RB, or WR. Their D is still pretty good, but not up to where it was 3-4 years ago. F$U is on the rise. I predict they will be the team to beat next year. I also think Cristobal has Miami beginning to move in the right direction. They've missed on every coach since Butch with the exception of Richt, who was at the beginning of his situation and had to retire. Cristobal might be the guy who moves them over the line.

The B1G cannot seem to win a big game on a national level. Why they cannot do this is beyond me. tOSU has a couple of them, in the last 5 years but otherwise they are 0-fer.

Acc sec and big ten all had similar Bowl record. Acc qb’s are coming back.

We're hardly unique in that. I would say almost every CFB fan follows and cares about what their rivals do every weekend. Rivalries are the defining aspect of the sport.

Maybe we go a bit harder than some fanbases but you might be surprised to find that our fanbase is a lot more normal than we like to think.

We haven't even poisoned any sort of famous plant associated with the sports of our rival like some other fanbase(s). Doubly so since our rival actually does have famous plants associated with their football team.

Oh for sure, but we're talking about us and the cesspool, not other teams. None of my family members that are Ugag alum talk to me about Tech during the year except COFH week. It's anecdotal I know, but just seems to me and others apparently, that a good many of our fans obsess over those idiots.

There's a difference between hate and obsession. I hope we all hate them with a passion, but that doesn't mean we need a weekly thread dedicated to the buttsniffers. Me and my Uncle talk öööö to all of our Ugag family members, granted they chuckle at us and move along, but we are loud and proud!

Too true. Thanksgiving week was always a good back and forth during the O'Leary years and even during Chan's tenure since we were competitive. Then CPJ got us 3 wins and those years were amazing.......Now they just smile and keep going.

Meh....I haven't seen it. I have many Gagger friends as well as my moms whole side of the family. None of them ever mention Tech football to me until COFH week and even then it's the usual "how much you think we'll win by" crap. The casual Ugag folks I've run into seem to have sympathy for what Collins did to the program and they want Tech to at least get back to being competitive for the rivalry. If someone asks these people about Tech I'm sure they'd respond as you noted, but they don't go out of their way to do so.....Many of our fans do.

When O'Leary, Chan and CPJ were on the flats, the family and friend dynamic was far more back and forth........We deserve better as a fan base, here's to hoping CBK can get us back!

I don’t think it’s a great feat to be competitive with them. CBK did that this season in 8 games as interim HC. Beating them regularly is a tall task. I don’t know but maybe one team that has a winning record vs. UGA over the past 10 seasons and that team might be Bama.

Oh I'd love to get to that point but I'm thinking more steady progress. The disparity in talent and depth is still very large. Only way to close that is to chip away at it through recruiting and it won't be an overnight or even a 2-3 year change.

I wouldn't say we were really competitive with them last season. We were competitive for a half, yes, which is better than most teams were, but it's tough for me to look at a 37-14 score and say that it was a competitive game. I'd like to see us within two scores before I start calling us competitive with them.

And now the word "competitive" has lost all meaning in my mind. Competitive. Competitive. Competitive.
