No, most HC’s are position coaches, then coordinators, then HC. Typically they are HC’s at lower level schools first.Isn't that true of every person who has ever been promoted to head coach? I am not arguing for TC to be hired as head coach; but the argument above sounds weak.
Not exactly. Dabo was named assistant HC the year before he was named interim HC before eventually being named HC. He also spent more than 3 years as a position coach before taking on those other titles. And Dabo is a clown who went from WR coach to HC.
I think the formula is to have an excellent recruiter for HC who surrounds themselves with (and empowers) elite coordinators to handle game planning. CGC meets half those criteria. His insistence on hiring who he knows and Tech men to coordinators and position coaches is what undercuts his recruiting success IMO.
What makes you think Collins would be a good head coach. What exactly makes you think TC would make a good head coach? He has experience as an RB coach and that’s it. He may make a great head coach one day, but right now there’s no evidence that he would make a great head coach TODAY.
Aha. This is what the OP meant, obviously.
Literal big news.
Yes. With ourselves.Dick Chaney? Are we starting a war?
I find this response a bit surprising. Cheney is no slouch. What AYCE buffet is about to go out of business with Chaney on the staff?
I'm underwhelmed by this hire.
That has absolutely nothing to do with what we were discussing. What makes you think Collins would be a good head coach.
There are some on here that can’t accept any positive news about Tech football.I find this response a bit surprising. Cheney is no slouch.

Seriously. A P5 coordinator we’re asking to breakdown film and help game plan.I find this response a bit surprising. Cheney is no slouch.
I am impressed we can afford him to come here and not coach.
He's an analyst, who gives a öööö.What AYCE buffet is about to go out of business with Chaney on the staff?

No, he's a slouch all right. Somebody owed somebody a favor.

2 games with a 100-yard rusher
8 games where the leading passer did not break 200 yards.
365 ypg on offense
and in 2020, in six of 10 games they did not crack 20 point barrier on offense.
So he won't be an on field coach. May be the only saving grace.
I continue to be underwhelmed by this move. And pretty much every move Clown has made that didn't involve pink slips to coaches.
I'll be whelmed when he equals his win total to date in one season.
Until then ....

Oh well in that case… no, it doesn’t.It has everything to do with what we’re discussing
