and we're not in it!.... Virginia is now a touchdown underdog at home against Sun Belt foe James Madison.
"Anybody can rank the best teams, but only The Bottom 25 ranks the worst each week of the season.
after years as the QB1 of the Bottom 25, Tom Fornelli has passed the baton to me, David Cobb, this season. We're still using Tom's power rankings to determine the order, but the written jabs are all mine. As for the power conference teams seen here -- Northwestern, Virginia, Indiana and West Virginia -- each face long roads to respectability. Don't be surprised if a couple of them are continually present here in 2023.

I can't believe the Cornhuckers aren't in this yet.....
Nevada retains #1 holding off nose diving Kent/Ark/Ball States...
" The contingent of Power Five teams in the Bottom 25 shrunk from four to one this week, as Indiana, Northwestern and West Virginia each managed to escape after winning their Week 2 games, leaving Virginia as the lone power conference representative. But the Cavaliers should soon have company from some ACC brethren in our weekly ranking of college futility. " (hint-BC)

Indiana in the Bottom 25 last week seems odd, since they played Ohio State fairly well, keeping the points down.

there's always some oddities in this in the first few weeks.
Fournelli always claimed his spreadsheet had no carryover from the prior year so it must take a couple of weeks for strength of schedule to have any accuracy even tho he must have weighted that pretty lightly.

Indiana barely beat the #16 Akron zips 29-27 in 4OT and lost to Louisville b4 that.maybe they just bad

In preparation for their coming massacre in Atlanta, Bowling Green debuts at #12.
Houston exits after defeating the always explosive Sam Houston Institute of Technology.
still Nevada#1.....the PAC_2 should annex them while they still hold such notoriety.
P5's have arrived........BC,Baylor and Arizona St joined the party
honorable mention for NotreDame who thought playing with 10 men was a clever trick.
i say...Where's them Hokies?

Is this just a weekly thing or are we sweating joining this dubious group?

We’ve screwed up two games but we are nobody’s bottom 25. We’re probably about 3 plays away from being 4-1 right now.

Huh? All 3 losses were to numerous plays and mistakes.

3 plays don't get us a win vs L'ville, BC, nor Ole Miss.

Numerous plays cost us the games, but we don’t toss that pick 6, we’re going for the XP and kicking that chip shot FG. 31-31 game. That’s the impact of one play. Their TE doesn’t make that one-handed TD catch, King doesn’t have to try to force that ball in the EZ, and any of 2-3 others wins that game for us.
The Louisville game, we hit those two FG - which Birr likely would have - and we’ve got the W.

yes it's published weekly.
GT has made an appearance in each of the last four years but only finished in the B25 once in 2019..
there's no way to know for sure if we close since they haven't shared their spreadsheet in a few years.
BowlingGreen is still in it this week despite winning....
sagarin ranks GT ahead of BC and Hokies and they haven't been in B25 this year so my speculation is that we have some margin altho not a whole lot.I'd ecpect BC/VT to arrive before GT.

UVA picked up a win over hapless Bill&Mary which was not enough to exit this week's B25 but they are no longer the lowest ranked P5.
Stanford will join the ACC next year and currently holds this honor.
Nevada has a vice grip on #1.
Temple has arrived.
"BGSU followed up its stunning upset of the Yellow Jackets with the clunker of all clunkers, losing 27-0 at Miami (Ohio) while mustering just 135 yards of total offense. The effort from the Falcons was so bad that it moved them to No. 19 in this week's Bottom 25. But even amid an ugly defeat, BGSU picked up a transitive victory over Miami because of the haplessness of the 'Canes. "
For our enjoyment, this week's bottom25 features plenty of Cane bashing.
