Bowl Game

Miami has a history of quitting if they lose their last game. They might decline a bowl bid.

If you think that we are going to a bowl game you need to have another beer. Not a chance.

Well I was gonna do that anyway. It really only helps if Key is retained, other then that I don't think we deserve it, but I would love to be able to see this team play another game if we can.

Our 4 wins were by a total of 13 points. If there is a loser team to go to a bowl game we are not even in the running for it.

... and a few higher-profile teams will as well, figuring that being in a low-tier bowl game would be beneath them. Tech should still have an outside shot as a result. It would be a nice reward for the kids given all they've been through this season.

Looks like bowl hopes are officially over.

Looks like Rice ended up being the only 5-7 team to receive a bowl bid, while 18 6-6 teams are going bowling. I remember Tech’s 7-4 ‘89 and 6-4-1 ‘84 teams not getting a bowl bid and understanding why (well, that ‘89 Team should have made a bowl). My how times have changed.

Two 6-5 teams and a 7-4 team under Pepper missed bowls too

I still think it was a HUGE miss not to accept a bowl bid in 2020. I know we were a three-win team, but apparently we did get offered and turned it down. Why would you turn down the extra practice time and the opportunity to get better? At the time, I was totally baffled with the decision.

The thought is understandable, but when you stop and realize that it would have been more practice time under the Clown, the players didn’t really miss out on much.
