Bowl Game

I still think it was a HUGE miss not to accept a bowl bid in 2020. I know we were a three-win team, but apparently we did get offered and turned it down. Why would you turn down the extra practice time and the opportunity to get better? At the time, I was totally baffled with the decision.
Perhaps due to our program being run by a complete idiot who, in turn, reported to a complete idiot.

But that's just a wild guess.

2020 was a ööööshow because of Covid, and I assume everybody was just ready for it to be over with by the end of the year. Didn’t we have a game in early December (Miami) cancelled because we didn’t have enough healthy/cleared guys to field a team? “Let’s just try again next year” wasn’t an unreasonable sentiment.

I think we were down to maybe a walkon at QB. I wanted to see it, but it would have been a mess

I’d love to see a Brent Key coached team in a bowl his first official game as GT HC.

I'd love to see Margot Robbie show up naked at my front door.

I mean, since we're fantasizing about things which are definitely not going to happen.

Pepper’s first two teams were 6-5 and 7-4 with no Bowl bid. They played Auburn, ND, Georgia and Tennessee both years as well as Clemson and South Carolina, Tulane , Duke and Navy. They played UNC and Pitt once. Bowl games were not easy to come by.

We played Pitt in 74 and 76. Pitt was great back then. Had Tony Dorset. Lost both games. Played them close in 74 my freshman year. Got blown out in 76.

Yes, played Pitt in ‘76, too, but that was Pepper’s third year. Crazy that we went 4-6-1 and beat Auburn and Notre Dame, but lost to Duke and Navy. I remember we beat UVA that year, I think Tulane was the fourth win and Clemson the tie.
