Bowls, CFP, and other Disappointing Games Thread

The first 12-team CFP has been a snoozefest so far.
If they had reseeding, the 8 team part could have been interesting.

In reality, teams playing 3-4 additional games after the end of a season over their Christmas breaks heading into spring semester is gonna be too much for the players to deal with.

Some of these teams will end up playing 17 games which even the NFL considered too many for their regular season until recently.

SMU=Indiana so far
IU was never down 28 last night.

Also, let’s keep in mind had SMU beaten Clemson they would be sitting home as the #4 team. This would be #11 Boise or #11 ASU.

ASU is playing real well right now. Boise will get smashed by PSU NYE.

This result will 100% have a change on how 1-4 are determined starting next year. It will no longer just be conference champions.

ACC final regular season standings: SMU, Clemson, Miami, Syracuse, Louisville, Ga Tech.
SMU only played Louisville. On the flip side Tech played three of these teams. SMU is a fraud.

False. 9-3 Duke was also 5-3 ACC. A game in which Duke should have won in regulation. Missed chip shot FG.

SMU deal to play Cal and Stanford is really crummy for the rest of the ACC. At least as long as those programs aren’t having much success

Reseeding? The “seeding” is totally arbitrary and made up by a panel of biased humans. You think IU@ND was random seeding? Or UT@OSU? Intentional matchups having nothing to do with any objective factors from the season.

Even if we accept that SMU had an easy ride to the playoffs, it was only thanks to that easy ride that the ACC even had 2 playoffs teams.

Minus the easy ride the only playoffs team is Clemson.

Shouldn’t conference realignment moving forward have to go through antitrust laws and government action? That is what the players are using. Bust up these mega conferences and have 12 team regional conferences.
Or even 10 team regional conferences. Drop the conference title games, and require each school to play all the other nine conference members every year.
