Bowls today

They should've gave tickets away to the homeless for this game. Unless you live within driving distance or you're a fan of the two schools I don't see how this bowl game will survive the day after Christmas.

Maryland opens the game with a 15 yard run. Total silence from the crowd. How dead is Maryland football right now?

I can't even figure out how they got into a bowl. I didn't pay much attention to them this year, but every time I saw them, they were losing to some Big 10 team by 40.

Hah. First job was in North Carolina, lots of NC State grads there.

When I worked in NC, I got to know some NC State fans. Nice folks. But man, talk about little brother syndrome. I tried to get them a head coach but they went with Chuck Amato instead.

Where has this BC offense been? Or is Maryland that clueless on D?

29 points in the first half is the highest first half total for BC in over 10 years. That's freakin' pathetic.

That just seems impossible. Is this an FBS-only stat?

EDIT: Must be. They scored 41 on Howard in the first quarter last year.

So this game was OU 44, Maryland -1.

Wins over Howard (2-9), FIU (4-8), UCF (6-7), Purdue (3-9), Michigan State (3-9), and Rutgers (2-10). Overall record of 20-52 (.278). Their 6 losses were by a total of 187 points (31.2 ppg).

Apparently that's a post season resume nowadays.

The refs right now:

EDIT: Because I'm sure nobody was watching, the refs just let some poor 290 lb guy run 60 yards with the most obvious non-fumble ever, called it a touchdown, then took almost two minutes of review to reverse it.
