Brian Kelly Press Conference

Call a local movie theatre listen to show times and pretend you are on hold or talking with a client

For some reason it's not loading on my work PC. Someone please give cliffs when you're done.

So far generic coach speak on GT praising etc. In regards to the new starting QB he said they will make the game plan around his strengths. Said Malik Zaire was recruited because he can run Kelly's offense said plan will have to change now somewhat.

So far, only fat, gray haired Guy Fieri is allowed to ask questions. (6 mins in)

Coach what do you think about their quarterback Justin Thomas who btw was recruited by Nick Saban?

How to balance first-time starter with need to score every possession:
Answer: we have to be aggressive within DeShaon's skill set. Talking about our average of 54.5 points over the last 5 games. Says they can't play conservative.

More preparing for TO, experience against Navy:
Answer: playing Navy helps, but Tech plays ACC teams every year, and it hasn't helped those teams.

He looks like a failed used car salesman in that suit. Complete with an Irish drinking problem.

"They've averaged 46.8 points over it's last 10 games, which includes wins over Georgia, Clemson, and Mississippi State." He almost started crying after that sentence.

Comparison between Navy and Tech:
Answer: more similarities than differences. Both have great QBs, but Tech has better athletes at FB, WR, and OL.

Do you have to adjust quicker:
Answer: yes. They make adjustments to defense, and you have to respond. Have to have players who can respond

Basically said that Notre Dame has better athletes and better coaching and that he expects GT to put up a fight, but will eventually fall to superior talent and athleticism. Says if GT and Notre Dame were to play 10 times, he would expect Notre Dame to come out victorious 9 of those 10 times. Then he gave a backhanded compliment about what CPJ is doing down in Atlanta, saying that he does more with less than any other Power 5 team.

Do you spend time looking at past seasons to make up for vanilla game plans against cupcakes:
Answer: yes, looking at Tech film back to 2009

Talking about how teams are covering Will Fuller:
Answer: he plays at a difficult position to defend - he's in the wide field. Compensating for that can get you in trouble defending the run and/or middle of the field (suggesting, IMO, bend don't break may be the strategy - give up to get more short field situations that take Fullers big receptions out of the picture).

Dealing with injuries:
Answer: no one really cares, those that do glad there are injuries. No excuses. Just have to play.
