Brian Kelly Press Conference

Then he gave a backhanded compliment about what CPJ is doing down in Atlanta, saying that he does more with less than any other Power 5 team.

This is backhanded? I thought this was the main reason CPJ was hired.

Basically said that Notre Dame has better athletes and better coaching and that he expects GT to put up a fight, but will eventually fall to superior talent and athleticism. Says if GT and Notre Dame were to play 10 times, he would expect Notre Dame to come out victorious 9 of those 10 times. Then he gave a backhanded compliment about what CPJ is doing down in Atlanta, saying that he does more with less than any other Power 5 team.

Did he really say this? Seems a bit too over the top.

I love it when our opponents underestimate us.

I can't believe he said that. That's got to be a Stingtalk troll.

First I love CPJ but he could never handle that situation. He would tell them all go F yourself 5 minutes in, but I will say it's kind of refreshing to hear a coach actually answer questions and not just treat everyone like they are idiots. I actually got something out of BKs presser but get very little from CPJ pressers or call in

"The linebackers and safeties should have no problem shedding their cut blocks. They are green and new to blocking in this scheme."

Wow.

He's not getting paid to please you in a press conference dumbass.

He did not say the quote in question as far as I remember. He was asked about "what if the game gets to be like Texas." But I thnk the reporters were trying to gauge what he meant by getting the backup (4th string QB) snaps.

Mediocre insult

if he hadn't had the season he had last year he'd either already be gone or on his way out....and a lot of the reason for that is because of his attitude. It's fine when you are winning, but when you are going 7-5 every year like Chan that gets old quick and I'd say came close to losing him his job.

There's really no reason to be a dick to people like Quinlan who don't ask stupid questions but he is anyway...just gets old. I still like the guy and I'm glad we have him, just wish he was at least nice to the media and gave fans something to actually learn about his system. He doesn't have to have a chip on his shoulders toward his own fanbase. It's not about being nice it's about not being a curmudgeon and assuming if he gave a real answer it would just go over everyone's head. I'm guessing you didn't actually listen to the BK presser to see the difference but it is obvious

Not really, he came close to losing his job because of mediocre results 2010-2013 including outright horrible results like losing to Kansas and MTSU. Even if he was nice, he would have still needed the great 2014 season to save his job.

When you are sitting in the stands watching us getting pummeled by MTSU, you don't think about how nice the coach is, you think about getting pummeled by MTSU.

You know what, I just typed out a long response to this even though I feel pretty confident that you're trolling. I've decided just to trash my response because nothing I can say could make you look dumber or more self-contradictory than your own post, so I'm just going to quote your post again below this and not spend anymore time wondering if you're the answer to the question "Just how far down can the syndrome possibly go?"

What about the 9/10 or 99/100 thing? That seems way, way too good to be true. Either way, I'm having Eddie Sutton flashbacks and I like it.
