Brian Kelly Press Conference

I think playing Navy is a mixed bag for ND. One we aren't the same both teams have their own style but we are much faster and I think that could surprise the irish defense because they are used to the TO at a slower pace

What are you emphasizing to defensive players:
Answer: you have to do your job on every single play.

Oh, they're planning to give their back-ups a lot of PT as they think our game will be like their first against Texas.

I heard that too.....WTFFF...."Coach, if you find yourself in a scanario similar to the Texas game where the game is all but decided in the third quarter..."

Uh....yeah...you might be down 35 - 3 this time around.

The biggest difference between Navy and us is JT5. The second biggest is that our starting OL outweighs that of Navy by 33 lbs each, on average. We're going to push more, and we're going to scoot for more on QB keepers than they're used to under this offense.

I think my biggest concern at this point is the turf. Notre Dame is known for having a terrible, terrible field with soft ground that limits shiftiness.

Someone mentioned that earlier. What's safer in that regard? Longer spikes or is it better for ankles and knees for them to not dig in?

ND put artificial turf in before this season

Dunno. I would guess we go for traction. I wonder what the Irish do.

I guess there's our answer. The advent of HDTV probably forced them to abandon this. At least that's what I'm going to believe. The first time I saw their field in hi-def, it was as lumpy as a teenager's face.

I also heard the sun can be tricky there, too. If you look right into it, it's blinding.

My biggest concern is how many more GT fans than ND fans will there be with five minutes left in this curb stomping of the irish

I'd like to hear all of the context and such, but that's some bulletin board fodder if I've ever heard it.

Basically said that Notre Dame has better athletes and better coaching and that he expects GT to put up a fight, but will eventually fall to superior talent and athleticism. Says if GT and Notre Dame were to play 10 times, he would expect Notre Dame to come out victorious 9 of those 10 times. Then he gave a backhanded compliment about what CPJ is doing down in Atlanta, saying that he does more with less than any other Power 5 team.

I don't see anything wrong with this part of his statement.
