If Collins is let go, this would be the guy I'd go after.

Gives him a new challenge and way to scrub some of the bad vibes off of himself. He would at least rebuild the program (since we actually need a rebuild now) and leave it in better hands.

Plus he appeases everyone, some option offense, some good recruiting.

Appeased would not be the word for me, more like appalled. Deon I could get enthusiastic.

If we are afraid of getting in the mud with the other pigs, we have to drop down to play a lower level of football or aspire to getting a great coach that can elevate the program to Vandy level beatdowns every week.

Ok, my turn: Pete Carrol. I’m sure he’s getting tired of the NFL and Seattle and he always wanted an ACC HC job and he’s already rich so would take a below market offer.
 
Urban Meyer would fake a heart attack and leave after the first top-5 recruit didn't have the grades for admission.

Pete Carroll would do the same thing without faking the heart attack, but he'd steal the statue of John Heisman on his way out and sell it on eBay to pay his buyout.

Art Briles is intriguing. He's available and has been largely (quietly) exonerated from the Baylor scandal, though he still only lasted 4 days at Grambling.

I like this. Pete Carrol as head coach, and we can have Gruden, Hugh Freeze, Art Briles, and Urban Meyer as assistants. I really like where this thread is going.
 
Wasn't Art Bryles vindicated when the NCAA failed to punish Baylor? Or at least decided not to punish Baylor because the infractions were part of a broader university issue?
Art was probably the sacrificial patsy, so the suits could stay out of jail.
 
I loved Urban while he was successful, but he really left UF with a fire in the middle of the program on the way out. Kinda like the downside of Collins but with some wins in the meantime.

I think Art Briles was cancelled when he gave Herbie's kid a timeout and Herbie cried. Or something.

Regardless, he is still radioactive and GT ain't going there, IMO.

If we are not willing to take chances we need to go ahead and start selling our non-ACC home games for coin. We need to move UGA to the dome and charge $200 a seat. Because we are going to continue to lose every game ~50-0 if we want to play 2022 NCAA football after tying our own hands behind our own back. And if we are going to continue to ba a laughingstock, we need to at least milk the football dollars and put them into basketball, baseball, and golf.
 
Yeah yeah because keeping CGC would be much better, or promoting key/long makes more sense. Bunch of morons.

Outside of Deon, I haven't seen a good suggestion.

You wouldn't take Urban Meyer if he wanted to coach here? You wouldn't take Art Briles?

Those are two proven exceptional A list coaches. However if it was me, I would hire Deion. Because Deion is the absolute highest risk highest reward candidate that we could go for and dammit we need to ööööing shoot for the moon here.
