Something I say regularly is that cheering for uga or Alabama is like cheering for the sun to shine. Nothing will replace the highs of crazy upsets under Johnson or 2014 or 2009. I wasn’t alive in 1990 so I haven’t seen the coming of the glory of the lord yet.

I just think winning is the ultimate cure all. Not saying that the history of tech hasn’t proven that it’s hard to win consistently. I just think that winning would be the quickest and easiest way to produce excitement.

I agree there, but it would take 5+ years of 9 or better win seasons to do it. The fan base is shrinking by the year.

The part where we were not in the lead. We were able to move the ball against the Duke 2nd string DTs. But our bback didn’t put two arms on the ball and began the downward spiral. Howard is probably the most talented 3rd string FB in the country. Either he needs coaching or he needs to watch how the walkon does it.

Never seen so many bipolar people in my life! If you were on the train the past 2 weeks if you jump off because of this game you are nothing but a bandwagon fan.

If we hang onto the ball for even 2 out of those 3 times, we win that game. Defense is playing better each week, Offense was working out the kinks and moving the ball in the 3rd Q with a nice drive.

Clearly football is a game you have yet to grasp....You and CPJ have something in common.
 
CPJ can coach at this level. He was very successful from ‘08-‘14. The problem is that he is not coaching at his own level of the first seven years at Tech in the past four seasons. Tired? Poor recruiting?

It helped that, during my time there and a few years after graduation, Tech actually went 4-3 vs UGA from ‘84-‘90 -AND of course won a National Championship and the end of that streak.

Agreed. Put TO in now. Play TQM only in the event of equip failure. Last 3 games, rotate out James Graham too - let him get plenty of PT.

I have no tie to CPJ, and I’d be the first in line to call for his head if I thought there was a coach out there that could do better. The fact is, his gimmick gives us the best chance to win. When he doesn’t get the QB he needs to run his offense, we suck. And when he gets the QB he wants, we can win the conference, and a BCS caliber bowl game.

Both of which have happened once in 11 years. When he leaves, it will be once in X years.

This coach will never again win the ACC nor a Big-6 bowl game here. Time to face and accept reality. We are a few light years away from either.

And the "offense fumbles 3 times" is now a staple of CPJ Big Game football. The 3 today, the 10 or so vs Clemson, the couple of HUGE fumbles vs UT....it's a STAPLE of this offense to suck ass in big-game situations.

This is the norm. The outlier is 2014.

It was glorious, my friend. Having sat thru the malaise of '87 and then watched Ross begin his Natty Building in '88 and '89, 90 was orgasmic.

CPJ is just masturbatory in comparison. This program is swirling in the toilet - we aren't building towards anything right now.
