Call it like i see it

Thanks Nate - what you said.

We need to bring in a top notch DC and pay him through the nose like we did Tenuta and Fridge.

It's wierd that these offensive 'geniuses' seem to never want to share the spotlight.

Leach has a crap DC and so do we. I guess Meyer thought it would be a good idea but look how bad that turned out...

PJ needs to get his head out of his rear, can Wommack and Ciano, and get a real DC. DB;s of the calibur we have should never look so confused.

And we don't look tough. Period.

I didn't think that would be a problem with Johnson teams. Maybe he overtrained them - didn't know when to quit. They look beat every game this year.

And a certain uber athlete has a real attitude problem - alligator arming balls and whiffing on blocks - even on special teams blocks. I don't know why he is playing. I also don't know why another certain grat kid with a great attitude 'is' playing. I appreciate that guys effort - but he sucks. One on O and one on D - you can figure out who.

Until we get a beter defense - Johnson is not earning his money no matter how good the offense is.

The last TD pass drop was Hill.

I know. Thomas had the one before that. It wasn't a guaranteed TD, but it was likely. He had his man beat.

He dropped one. He made a nice catch on the TD. He's also a very good blocker. The NFL loves big WR's that can also block.

The problem is he drops one or more every game. He could have had a second TD. I seriously wonder if he needs a pair of contacts.

D Morgan has more talent than any dlineman that has been at this school since Marco Coleman. So I would agree with what you said. The other thing is, Miami's play calling seemed to favor trying to run our guys all over the field. Seriously. They'd go deep, thin in the flats, then over the middle, then to the wide side of the field, then call a reverse. That OC knew exactly what he was doing, he was trying to tire our defense out early. Great gameplan on his part.

They held his ass constantly.

D. Thomas = Big Time Pro style WR who can lay a defender out on a block. Doing his best to work with an ineffective passing QB.

Dems said something about this are yall talking about AA?

I hate to be the one to say it but I happened by the scrimmages and was surprised how puny we looked, especially in the DB. Looked like really small guys you'd see on the street. Not thinking "These guys are supermen!" They were acting cocky but that's what you'd expect. They looked like little people.

The problem is probably most assuredly Wommacks's but 50% at least is our guys are just too small to play for a BCS team. Morgan is the prototype. A few pounds.

Interesting that it was Giff Smith's D line that failed at everything. Does CPJ allow his assistants to vent. I doubt it. Why did we quit trying to run the option? Chicken****?
It was our best chance. Why did we start trying to run a passing game with our weakness? Absolute dumbassness AFAIC.

My analysis is that the entire GT staff had been lured down to Miamah with the promise of free steak dinners and fine hotel rooms and the next thing you know, why they brought out the pretty girls!

Hill tried hard to get the ball at it's highest point (A for knowledge and effort), but jumped a second early, so he was defended by thug u soph (F for result).

he was tired :D
8 did drop the ball before that, and he did because he was tired. The preceding 2 plays, he ran down field and back while Josh got chased and sacked. On the best day my revisionist history brain can remember, if you asked me to play to Q4, then run a gasser, and catch a ball on the last leg of it, I might drop it too.

I agreed with this until tonight. I saw 8 OLAY block more than once tonight. Don't know why, but it obv hurt us both times.

Unf, I agree here too. The guy is a stud, but he does seem to keep a case of the yips 'on hand'.

gnats, was thinking the same thing in regards to defense. With the exception of Burnett and Morgam, Gailey left the cupboard pretty bare on defense. In the first half, Miami made it their mission to hold, harass Morgan, to run him all around the field with reverses and screen passes, and generally make our one real defensive weapon's life a living hell. It worked pretty damn well too.

I totally agree on this one. I watched the entire game and there were times were Bebe could have flattened a guy but simply let up and the guy ended making the tackle. He was slacking on his blocking like the rest of the team.
