No kidding. I was talking player #2 in his example.

So, you're surmising that 14 other teams offered him $60M and he chose to stay in Detroit? All things being equal he chose Detroit, Michigan, one of the worst run organizations in professional sports, and a "Eh...he doesn't totally suck" QB to continue on with his career. That's your position.
Umm.....OK.
This isn't a Detroit problem, this is a Calvin-specific issue.
What makes you say this? Having your 2 best players ever, walk away from you while they're still in their early 30s decades apart tells me otherwise. What am I missing?
That they didn't want to go through the rest of their life with painful debilitating injuries any more severe than they already have.

Fair enough. Though, am I having a brain fart that I can't seem to recall similar status players with similar "stories" bouncing out early on winning/successful teams?
Trying to link and draw conclusions from 2 players retiring nearly 20 years apart is pure stupidity. Is that what you are trying to do?

That's about as logical and sound a reason as I can think of ...
Robert Smith.
Patrick Willis.
Jason Worilds.
Off the top of my head, those are three that played for good teams and retired early.

Maybe he'll go into real estate like Kim King and John Dewberry. He has both the money and the interestHe's said in past interviews that his mom is going to make him finish his degree.
After that, who knows. I imagine if he ever works again it will be because he wants to, and I don't really know what he's into.

And certainly not every NFL player had the combination of signing big contracts and playing positions that require taking huge hits. Linemen can play as long as they are competitive. QBs are fairly well protected and don't take nearly as many huge hits.
I would say DBs would be the next closest but they have the advantage of being the ones doing the hitting rather than being hit most of the time.
I'm pretty sure there will be a bidding war to have him in studio on Sundays.
If a cocaine snorting burnout can land that gig, how much more marketable is Megatron?
Calvin doesn't strike me as the type to do TV
Was it the Acura, Nike, Zaxbys or some other TV commercials that gave you that impression?
