I've said it before and it's worth repeating here: The longest-lasting effect of PJ is that he really lowered the bar of expectations and made too many of his PJ Fan Club members embrace mediocrity. It's on full display here with the strange worship of GSU.

Correct. I wasn't happy with CPJ. I'm not happy with Collins.

In an alternate universe, duck Notre Dame, GOL stays here, we become the dominant team in the state, we have another Natty by now, GOL retires as our AD.

Yea, I guess Georgia State would have beaten ND, and Pitt, and VT, and UVA, and Miami, and UGAg.....

Actually, they would have won none of those and would have gotten trounced by at least 4 of them, maybe 5.

But Georgia State did beat Arkansas State. Impressive.

Again, you deal in hypotheticals and projection with things that can’t be proven. The reality is we DID get slapped around by all of those teams while we were giving up over 500 yards and over 26 points on a weekly basis. Many of our opponents had their season high in yardage against us so it’s a stretch to say we could stop anyone. Since we lost to Northern Illinois I don’t think we can say we’d smoke any teams playing in, and winning, a bowl.

I know you love to point to the UNC game and use that as evidence we can beat anyone while ignoring all of the losses after that show we were undisciplined and poorly coached showing we could lose to anyone.

There is no worship of GSU. They won a bowl game so I’m not going to assume we’d beat them by using some moronic transitive property. Giving props to a team the won a bowl while acknowledging how bad we looked this year doesn’t translate into “worship”
